It has been a week so I am checking in with an update. Please note my previous post...
I have no withdrawal symptoms. None. WOW! I am currently down to about 7.0 mg. daily in a.m. (ALways take your dose in the morning because it will last longer and therefore be less likely to trigger the anticholergenic rebound.)
I have continued with my vitamin regamin and have been very consistent in taking out seven more "dots" of the cymbalta every day. This slow tapering method has been excellent compared to "stretching" the doses or trying to "step down" 10 mg. every two weeks.
Note: I'm not taking any melatonin anymore at night. I felt that I didn't really need it. I am planning on beginning a diet and exercise program this week because I am feeling so well. I think it is important not only to have a plan when coming off psychiatric mediation but also not to take on more than you can reasonably handle. I have not had any major recurrance of my symptoms (depression and anxiety.)
I am looking forward to the point where I come off Cymbalta completely and hope that I continue to have success. Like I promised, I will keep everyone informed. Thanks for reading and thanks to Aerlyn for the props!
