You might want to look into something they call Fixed Drug Eruptions. These are reactions to drugs; antibiotics, Non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs like acetaminophen and ibuprofen, as well as many others. I just saw my dermatologist yesterday and it was something I have never heard of but I looked at the photos associated with the condition on the net and bingo...a few look just like my condition...I have been taking a lot of ibuprofen lately...My Internist was treating a fungal infection so we are going to look at all this next week and get it fixed. Pretty sure this is what I have. Hope this helps you with your condition.

ive been having this exact same problem! its terrible!!! the worst part is the itching!! and when its itching  u try  to apply moisturizing crams with no effect! and when u scratch it .. IT JUST GETS WORSE!! but i believe to have found a solution!!!:-D for instant relief of itching you must make the effected areas cold... you should first take a freezing cold shower (effected areas only. no need to wash) for a few seconds only. then apply ice pack to keep it cold. BE SURE TO NOT PICK OFF ANY DRY SKIN! apply a moisturising agent ( vaseline works well) and go to sleep. when you wake up, u will have a coat of dry skin but with no itch. this is when you start to apply the cream more frequently. so with the tching out of the way, u can heal with no problems!!! :-|

Im 13 I had started to get a rash in june and it hasnt gone away after reading the symptoms described I believe I have the same thing as the rest of you I think the diper rash cream might work best.

It sounds like you have a yeast infection.


Candidiasis is the name for a yeast infection.

You may try to treat it at home by:

1. Washing the area.
2. Drying the area thoroughly.
3. Applying athlete's foot cream containing clotrimazole.

I also am from AZ I just moved to Japan and two months later I had same exact symptoms. I'm telling you I have been freaking out. Vitamins A&D ointment with baby wash by Burt's Bees has cured it! I have sensitive skin so that's why included the Wash. Crazy how something so simple can fix the problem! Thanks for your input. Months I couldn't figure it out. Thought I had an std or something. So glad I found the answer. I hope this works for you as well. Good luck!

The antifungal cream itself could be causing some drying; it is possible that you are sensitive to a soap or laundry detergent you are using. Try using a cleanser for sensitive skin, as well as unscented laundry detergent, and use a moisturizing penis health cream to manage the split, cracked skin.

Having itchy gentials is enough to drive someone insane.  Especially if you are in public and can't exactly scratch away.  I suggest purchasing a penis health creme.  These are made specifically for guys, and will help do away with the itchiness.  Get one with vitamins and shea butter though.  You are going to have to apply it directly to your penis and you don't want any weird synthetic stuff in the creme.

Someone above mentioned Man1 Man Oil -- that really is a good health cream, it's a lotion for the penis with natural moisturizers and other good nutrients.

That's a long time to have jock itch! Are you sure it's that? Get diagnosed. If so, keep the area sweat-free with some manscaping and powder; use antifungal cream as prescribed. To help with dry skin, a moisturizer like Man1 Man Oil made for the penis can help. But get diagnosed!

The area around my penis is very dry and red. When I clean it with water it all came back in a few hours or so.
