When I'm doing a physical activity that causes increased airflow past my ears (e.g. biking, running), the ears and their outer tube get chilled and my heavier breathing then causes the ears to feel like they've half-popped. At that point breathing through mouth or nose feels like air is partly passing by the ear canals and I "hear" the breathing as a loud, hollow sound in my head. This is uncomfortable, bordering on painful if I keep exertion up.

It's more likely to happen the colder the surrounding air is. A thin sport fabric covering the ears when biking helps somewhat, but this condition is making it hard to do any endurance-type exercise when it's just slightly below room temperature outside. Even indoor sports like badminton, with occasional air current past the ears, can get the ears almost chilled enough to half-pop.

I've been pretty sedentary most of my life and this is one of the reasons.

Anyone know what condition this is?Thanks
