I believe that this condition could be the consequence of stress.
Do you have very stressful job or life? Ok, we all have some kind of stress in our life but some of us can’t deal with it so good and that manifests trough some, usually, bad habits. In your case that is excessive eating and it resembles addiction because when you don’t get your “dose” you start to have symptoms of withdrawal.
It would be wise to visit your doctor because this excessive eating will bring you some extra pounds and that will affect your self-confidence. To avoid this consult with your doctor and try to resolve this problem trough talking and stress relieve. For example I am fighting anxiety through workout.
