Extremely Long Period After Plan B

My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex on March 9th . I took Plan b 3 days later and have not yet to have a period. It is now April 13. I also took a preg Test on March 20th  at the doctors office but it came back negative. I took another preg test on April 12 and it was positive. (store brought) I have signs that my period is coming. I am cramping like normal. what do you guys think?

I took plan b twice in one month due to stupid acts. The first time i took it my period came n it was 7 days the second time i took it my period was at least 11/12 days. Every day i had it i was super pissed because it seemed like it was never going to end now its just SUPER DUPER light, i don't even need a panty liner but if i wipe its still there a little. Right now I'm happy that its damn near not there and I'm hoping i don't have my period until september because how i was bleeding was just annoying. Im happy I'm not pregnant but DAMN!

I never heard of the plan B pill. My period come on every 13th of every month for the pass three months. This month my cycle started on the 14th, every heavy and bright red. after a few days the blood begin to get like a dark reddish brown. I thought it was about to go off because it got a peach color but that wasn't the end of it my period got back red then dark reddish brown. Its been 9 day but now its just brown blood coming out. My boyfriend and I have been trying to get pregnant but I had a cyst in my ovary we think that's were the blood is coming from. Is there anyway I can get some answers I'm lost and in need for help

I know I am reviving an old forum, but same thing has happened to me, I wanted to see if anyone knew anything. AGE:24... July 6th: period ended... July 12th: unprotected sex.... July 14th: took plan B one step.... July 20th-23rd: period "jump" started VERY LIGHT BLEEDING WITH SOME BROWN LIQUID ALSO, NEVER SEEN BEFORE..... August 15th to Present: 2nd period.. and has been going since.. medium blood flow, slowed down in middle, restated again.

HAS BEEN 16 DAYS AND COUNTING FOR THIS PERIOD..  no abdominal pain, no light headedness yet.Have appt with gyno in a few days, should I goto ER right away?SHould blood loss be a concern??

I had sex with my boyfriend exactly 12 days ago and the condom broke. The morning after I took the Plan B one step. Then early last week about 6 days after we had the un protected sex I began to get terrible cramping worse then I've ever had during my normal period. I also had period like symptoms. Now the cramping and symptoms are gone and I'm just left with paranoia. I took a pregnancy test last night that came back negative.

When can I expect my period? It's not tecnically late yet but I'm scared. Where did my period symptoms go? and where is my period?! 

No no no, if that were the case, Plan B would NOT be over the counter b/c you're saying it basically works as an abortion pill. You did not abort a baby!!! Don't worry! Plan B work by sloughing off some endometrial tissue so that the fertilized egg can't find a nice n snug spot in ur uterus to impant itself anywhere. so thats why some people get a little bit of spotting (in your all case it caused a few days of this dark brown bleeding) soon after taking the pill, meanwhile ur body was already preparing itsefl for a period and so soon after u got the spotting over with, u're bleeding like crazy b/c its ur normal period again. this time u're bleeding heavier than usual b/c plan b is an extra dose of hormone that ur body would not have usually secreted during a regular cycle. hope this makes it clear!

I took it right at what was supposed to be the end of my period and I thought it had ended, but then the next day or so I realized it hadn't.  It's now on it's 9th day and driving me insane.  I think I'm in the clear pregnancy-wise since I took it almost immediately after we realized what had happened, but now I'm almost wondering if I'm dying.  

I'm officially freaking out now. mine is like yours.

 

-4 day period,

-5th day stopped,

-came back,

-wont stop.

-questioning life...("abortion pill" bit)

 

I'm not leaving this to chance though, I'm going to the doctor.

ok so , i made a little mistake and toom the morning after pill on a friday and got my period on the Wednesday  Now its going on the 9th day, its really light but im kinda pissed that its lasting for this long. Since all of us have the same problems, then maybe it is very likely that every girl who takes Plan B our periods will be a lot longer. Whether it's heavy or not is dependant on the type of girl you are. I have googled a lot about what can happen after taking Plan B and everything we are going through is completely normal.

Plan B has no effect if you were pregnant. It does not function as an abortion pill to kill the embryo. It only alternate your hormone which could cause heavy period.

I've had my period for a whole month, yes about 4 weeks now since I've taken Plan B. I don't think it's normal and I'm starting to panic. I start my new cycle of birth control pills tomorrow. If it still doesn't seem to affect the flow, then I'm def going to the doctor. I'm already anemic as it is, and bleeding for 4 weeks straight isn't helping the issue.

I'm on 19 days right now!! Whatever ever happened with yours??

I have a similar situation with you guys as well. I'm on my 13th day. I am curious as to how long your period has lasted till?

I am having the same problem. Took plan B 3 weeks ago and I'm on the 10th day of my period. It has been very very light the whole time except maybe 2 days where it was fairly normal, yet still lighter than my usual period. I also started taking birth control the day after I took plan B, as directed by my doctor. Is this normal? I am freaking out!

My period is doing the same thing. It stopped for a day after having a normal cycle a d talking plan B a week prior to getting my period. Once my period started up again, it was a dark red/ brown color. I also have a lot of cramps which I didn't have in my usual cycle. Plan B is proven to make your period last longer I just want to know how much longer! It's been 3 days more of my cycle than my usual 6. I took the pill within a couple hours of unprotected sex. I don't believe I'm pregnant because I got my period at the regular time of the month and it was not spotty or unusual...until now. If anyone knows how long it typically lasts after using the pill please spill the beans!
