Hi, thanks for your reply I havn't been on this site for a while so I hav only just read it....I finally have been to a cardioligist and they think I have a blocked branch bundle in my heart..I am having a heart monitor on this week for 24hrs and then I am doing a stress test  the next day..I have had a heart monitor on before but it didn't find anything...so it will be interesting what happens after that..I havn't had any black outs for some months now but they have always been sporadic..I didn't have any for 8mths then I had 2 and since then its been 6mths..I will let you know though after the results after the 12th Ocober.

Thanks for your interest....Sue:)

who knows..thanks for your imput..I went to a cardioligist @ the end of 2011 and they ran all the test and my heart is fine..thats good!! I truley believe that it was stress as over a period I had a lot of stress in my life(children!) and that has resolved and I have not had a real turn for nearly 12mths as those issues have been resolved..so maybe it was my body telling me to slow down and relax and don't take so much onboard..I don't why it happened and why it has stopped happening!!

This board has been very helpful. I am a 22 year old male, and i can remember having these back to Junior Varsity basketball in high school. I exercise everyday, eat a very healthy diet and hardly ever deviate from it. The greatest tip I have for prevention is whenever you need to bend over to get something, get in the habit of bending at the knees, not the back. Since figuring this out I have hardly had any episodes in the past year, whereas I used to have about 1 a month. Hope this is somewhat useful.

Glad to hear that someone else has that problem but I feel maybe it is coming from Vertigo Sometimes I also feel sick at that moment. I clean my cat litter and bingo I get up, feel sick and have to rest like I just ran a marathon. I am going to see a Vertigo Dr. soon

Interesting to read so many similar stories. I'm 48 years old and in good physical shape. Two years ago I started fainting in the garden (bending over at the waist pulling weeds in a crouching position) and would get faint even before standing up. It's worse in the heat, but can happen whenever I'm bent over or putting pressure on my diaphragm ... lifting something heavy or pushing something. Heart speeds up and I'm exhausted. I also started getting faint while running. Every test has been run ~ heart monitors, ct scans, angiogram, tilt table test, multiple stress tests and gastro tests. Only results were low thyroid, gastroparesis (stomach doesn't empty very fast) and my blood pressure drops with exercise. Nothing found to explain the blood pressure drop or delayed stomach emptying. What I recently discovered is that when I bend over, my blood pressure goes way up. When I stand or relieve the pressure of my abdomen against my chest, the blood pressure goes way down. Not sure if I'm putting pressure on the vagus nerve or a blood vessel ... just know it makes me dizzy and sick. Drs. are making an appointment for me with the Oregon Health Science Hospital in Portland. Will be very interested to see what happens from here.

Since Dec. 21, 2009 when they put a new battery in my pacemaker this is what is happening to me. They say nothing is wrong with the battery but they had it checked a few times to regulate it and I felt better but then after awhile it is happening again and again. I feel like I am going to passout and die. I think they should check that pacemaker, maybe there is a loose wire. I have just about had it. I am a very busy woman and love life but it is getting me down. Thanks for listening Shirleu

I have the same symptoms as u guys r describing, Light headed, pounding heart, & my arms & legs get real weak, & it only last a few mins...but my "blackout spells" occur out of the blue but mostly when I get hot. I walked my son 2 the mail box 1 day & carried him up the stairs & when I got in the door & sat him down I blacked out for about 10 seconds or so. When I came to my heart was pounding...That was only 1 of many episodes that I have had since 2008...I noticed the spells after I had surgery 2 repair a skull fracture right above my left eye above my sinus cavity...I cant play softball or even run much b cuz my spells are really afecting my life & they r only getting more frequent...N E knowledge of this would be greatly appreciated...I have no insurance so I dont know to do.

Hello ~ so sorry to hear you are having these problems too. Sounds like your blood pressure is bottoming out. Have you taken it when you have these spells? When your blood pressure drops, your heart speeds up in an attempt to bring the pressure up. If your pressure stays too low, it limits the amount of blood going to your brain ~ and boom, down you go. There are so many things that can cause this, some serious and some that are debilitating, but as my doctor says, "not life threatening". First thing to be sure of is that you are well hydrated. No matter what else is going on, if you regularly power down sport drinks, increase your salt intake and stay cool, your blood pressure will be liking you better. If that doesn't do the trick, then you should at least have your heart looked at to rule that out. I feel for you that you are without insurance ... because it's more stressful to feel ill and not feel like you have anywhere you can afford to turn, than it is when you have options.

Hi, I just wrote wrote this short story in this reply soI hope it doesn't double up..sorry..anyway went to my doctor last week and to let her know that I havn't had any blackouts for nearly 12 months I always believed that my blackouts was caused by stress it was my body reacting to anxieting I was having worrying about one of my children who was in a very bad relationship. As a parent we always worry but what was happening to my daughter really must have worried me more than I thought.

So my doctor now believes that i was pumping a lot of adrenlian into my body due to the stress ..my daughter is no longer in that relationship so I am not as anxious but my body was so used to all the adrenalin and still wanted it so my glands would pump it out when i was in a relaxed state so therefore when i would get up ..Bang down I would go ...my blackouts started as quick as they finished..bazzar how the body  has coping mechanisms.I still have a cardiologist visit later in the year for a follow up but the first visit really didn't find anything and I don't think he will next time either.

I think we all need to be very astute to how OUR body works.Look @ what else is happening in your life ,you may not physcally have anything wrong with you but your emotional and mental state definately affects our physical state.I truly belive that:-)

Cheers
