I have this every time I wake up, even from a nap. I've had it for several months and thought I was dying because I do not have anxiety issues. As it turns out, I tested pos for Lyme Disease and a bunch of other infections. So much for the cardiologist who said I have depression and PTSD. My new cardiologist told me I have orthostatic intolerance and that causes my heart to race when I stand. My bp is also always low. He said the infections can cause this. I'm guessing I wake up with it racing because my bp drops while I'm sleeping.

hold you nose and mouth closed and blow hard. I read this somewhere and it should straighten you heart beat out it will not stop beating fast but if it is off beat it will fix it. I have checked it out with a blood pressure cuff that show's when your heart beats. also the rapid heart beat could be from not enough water and most of times low calorie Gatorade G2 will help.

So, I've noticed the past month a few times when im having a dream ( either good or bad) I'll wake up suddenly to the feeling of a uncomfortably tight chest, a racing heart, and the sense of extreme panic. But, I have a normal pulse and I don't actually really feel panicked or that my chest is actually tight. It's kinda feels like I'm dreaming it. I'm not in my 20s yet, I still got act few years but I was wondering if anyone know what may be going on and of I should get it checked out. It kinda is freaking me out. Thanks!

Same problem fast heart beat and anxiety make me jump up out of a dead sleep after only 2hrs. Then am up the rest of the night. Benadryl usually gets me through the night, only sometimes.

Dehydration also causes high bpm and having too much to drink can definitely add to that

When I get up sometimes It feels like my head will explode . I can use a ice pack and in about 2-3 minutes it gone. Also with that I have fast heartbeat like I been running, I can hear my heart beating in my ears ,also I feel tired and sick to my stomach each morning. Sometime this happens during the day . I been to 7 Doctors none of them can tell me why this in happening. I am 56 years old I have been going through this for many years ,but now that I am older it worst. I feel that I will have a heart attach any time this happen and yes I been to a heart Doctor too. he found nothing wrong.

The best solution is to put a wet cold towel on your face. The heart beat decreases instantly. It is cold the "swimmer's effect". My heart goes to 125-155 few minutes after I wake up feeling hot. Within 10-20 sec goes back to 80. Found this solution online. It is better than beta-blockers. The day routine solution is the breathing technique 4-7-8.

Whenever I lay down at night,I can hear and feel my heart pounding, causing my entire body to vibrate. It makes it impossible to relax and rest. I am now having trouble going to sleep because of it.
Also on three occasions I fell asleep while sitting on the couch at home, upon waking up I felt my heart pounding and racing,it feels as though my heart wants to burst out of my chest, shaking my entire body, almost as if I’m having a panic and heart attack all at once.It normally lasts for app. two hrs after waking up.It also seems very difficult to breathe normal. Thankfully with these symptoms I’m not having any pain.

Recently I've been experiencing faster heart beat and dizziness. I realized that when I take a deep breath all symptoms disappear. What could this be?
