hello everyone. Well I am a 23 yr old male, I used to be very active with sports and I have play sports all my life. I stop doing them because of the symptoms that I had developed. Well I started to feel and see my heart beating harder. Yes, I would get scared because I would sometimes ask my self what if something bad would happen to me. I been having the same symptoms due to this I developed some anxiety. When I am in school or at the house I feel my heart pounding all the time, especially when I focus more on it. I would sometimes have chest pain or feel something tight in my chest. Well there was times wer I did not know what to do. I went to to hospital like three times, I would go to several doctors and they all ran EKG, XRays, heart monitor, blood test for damage heart and nothing, they would tell me that I was perfectly fine, they would say I was in good health conditions. Well it came to pass that I visit another doctor again and I told him about my symptoms and he gave me a pass to go and see the cardiologist. So I was there seeing the cardiologist I told him my symptoms and he started checking me. He told me to take off my shoes to see if I had swollen feet, he check my pulse from my hands at the same time, he check my pulse from the neck too and he checked my back and my chest, each in four separate areas. So he told me that I had a very soft heart murmur and I ask him what was causing it and he told me I would have to get a sonogram done to my chest. So I did it and I went to go and see him again and he told me that the problem was in the heart valves, that one of them was not opening all the way. He said that each valve contains three little clovers and that two where stuck together an that is why It would not open right. He told me this was call aeortic stenosis or narrowing of the aortic valve. So he told me that there was no medicine or anything that could make my valve open the same way. He told me that is why I could feel my on heart beat sometimes, because the left ventricle has to work harder to pump blood because of the valve narrowing. He just told me to check with him every year to see how the narrowing of the valve was going. I was astonish, because no one from my family nor other generations have had no heart illness. This usually happens if someone in the family suffers from heart condition. Well I did not give up. I went to go see another doctor, a girl doctor and she told me that in the valves there is plaque that builds up and that is why the two from the three clovers where stuck together. Plaque in the valves is mainly cause by bacteria. Most of the times the bacteria comes from the mouth. This happens because of holes in the tooth that have not been cover by a dentist or by gum disease. Sticky saliava is mainly plaque that is in the teeth and all this goes into the stomach and pick up by the blood that is why aeortic stenosis sometimes develops if no heart conditons exist in family nor generations. So what the doctor recommended for me to do was to take vitamin E 1000 IU. This cleans up the inside of the veins and valves. Also, garlic and omega 3 pills are recommended to lower down arterial pressure. I have been taking these three natural pills and I have seen a change in my heart pounding, it has been reduce. Well I hope this can help, because sometimes one might have crazy thoughts. Just put your health in Gods hands, He is the perfect Doctor to cure any illness. Queations? Feel free to ask. This is amazing, so many people with the same condition I feel as well. I am not alone in this. My heart palpitations began 2 months ago while I was have an unusually long "sickness". It began in early December 2009 from the flu, which then developed into bronchitis. As usual, the bronchitis lasted the usual 2 months with me, so I thought nothing of it. However, something remained with me. One doctor gave me asthma medication, as my symptoms were like asthma. Once on these inhalers for a month, my situation got worse, not better. So I consulted a second doctor. He gave me antibiotics and told me to stay on the inhalers. Well, I decided to stop using the inhalers and began the antibiotics. Sure enough, the antibiotics removed the weird asthma-like symptom. However, I still had mild asthma-like symptoms afterward. During this time, coming off my medications, I consulted a third doctor who put me on more medications which didn't work as they had horrible side-effects which I couldn't tolerate. It was during this time as I was trying to deal with coming off of the drugs they put me on, that one day after a strenuous day at work, that my heat began to pound in my chest for hours. The first night it was 8 to 9 hours. I then went to work the next day, but after work went to the doctor. Did some tests, went home and had another attack, this time for 5-6 hours. The day after that it lasted about 1-2 hours... and the day I got my test results back it lasted about 30 minutes. The tests all came back NEGATIVE or WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS. So all that money spent on NOTHING, except reassurance that everything was okay and I wasn't going to die anytime soon.
Well, since the docs couldn't fix me, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I did some research online about heart palpitations and discovered a whole group of people online (about 30 to 40) who also posted blogs about their condition which were mostly eerily similar to what I was experiencing. One post of which had an answer posted that mentioned MSG (Mono Sodium Glutamate) toxicity.
I looked it up. Turns out that ALL of the symptoms I had were on the MSG poisioning symptoms list (there's like 92 of them). So with more research I found a list of foods to avoid and have avoided them for 2 months now. I noticed that my heart was beating less intensely, and whenever I ate something which contained MSG (or hidden MSG) by accident, I noticed I had a severe reaction, feeling sick while having heart palpitations.
Basically I eat fresh foods now and AVOID ALL PROCESSED FOOD.
This worked well for a month, as I detoxed I noticed weird symptoms coming back, but that was only brief. I stuck it out, kept detoxing. The symptoms got less and less severe, and were almost gone, but I ate a beet one day thinking it would be good for me, but no... Turns out beets are one of the vegetables MSG is made from, so naturally I experienced another "attack".
My attacks last for a whole day (about 24 hours), but other peoples' symptoms may last more or less, because everyone has different reactions to MSG.
So now I am trying to find out why my heart palps have returned, even though I am eating right... any ideas?

I am 33 Years old and a couple of years ago I started noticing a strong heart beat in the mornings when i wake up. I get up to urinate sometimes just before dawn and the first thing I feel is my heart. it feels like an alarm goes off in my chest and my body gets full of energy and can't sleep no more. Sometimes i am up at 4 am.... I am tired by 7 pm and need to go to bed early, this is conflicting with the time I spend with my children because that is the time we are all home together. I cannot afford a doctor and I sometimes think that it can lead to something serious in the future. I exercise about twice a week and I am about 15 pounds overweight but i am not obese. I eat right, lots of vegetables and drink plenty of water throughout the day. I really wish someone could answer this question. To those that have not tried it yet, taking a baby aspirin about 2-3 times a week helps somewhat, not sure why but it does. I think alot of us just have really strong hearts but that worries me about the future. what if it wears out faster than most? I must admit I am a bit scared and worried.

I'm a 17 year old male ... i have the same condition as all of you.. . . not sure what it is but i've had this problem for about 8 months.
It really scares the hell out of me. Sometimes i'll just be sittin there and have this sharp pain go through my heart and it will like make me jump. I used to could run 2 miles and my heart be poundin... now i can run 3 steps and my heart be poundin...... I've done research on this a lot and theres so many different answers to what it could be. I dont even ask a doctor because they dont wanna take the time to really figure it out. They just wanna tell you some BS and be done.
The 13 year old who posted... I understand exactly what your talkin about... i have the exact same effects... I can just be sittin there doin nothin at all and my heart be beating so fast that you can see it in my stomach. I used to smoke marijuana and it would really go crazy then.. i would think my heart was stoppin all the time.... I've been clean now for 4 months and still have the problem.
If anyone happens to find a reason that can cause these please post it on here cause if its gonna cause me to die .. i'd sorta like to know
Oh and i have heard that your arteries being clogged can cause this ... so i'd hate to find out it was that

Hello everyone. I am 46 years old and I have this heart pounding thing in my head and all through my body but it is mostly right in my forehead. I have been diagnosed by three different Doctors with Anxiety Disorder. I have pretty bad breathing problems everyday and used to work in a Casino in the thick of the second-hand smoke for fifteen years! I thought my lungs were bad but all the Doc's are saying they are normal. This pulsing in my head is driving me crazy but it is comforting to know that others with Anxiety are also experiencing this worrisome ailment. Dont stress over things before bed and dont worry about it! That will not help. I think that some relaxing techniques and maybe a nice cup of hot decaf tea before bed will help. That is what I am trying!

I want to share something that happened to me this past weekend. It dawned on me when a post mentioned an artery clogg. I was playing basketball sunday morning for almost 3 hours. I was tired but we kept losing to this team and we really wanted to beat them, I was pushing myself beyond my normal cardio level. Towards the middle of the last game I felt a throb in my chest (left side where heart is) and I got scared, I thought I was having a heart attack. after the throb my heart rate accelerated for about 3 minutes and then it slowed down. I have felt great since. it is only tuesday but the last couple of days I have been feeling really good. no complains and I am even in a better mood. I think I had a partially blocked artery and my exercise sunday forced something through. I am very excited and can't wait to go play again on thursday. i will keep you all posted on how I feel. To those with similar symptomsk try exercising to exhaustion, not sure if it will work but I can say that i feel great! thank god.

Hello, I have the same exact problem as all of you guys do, so I guess it's pretty common. I had a perfectly normal life (age 16) and was very healthy until one day when I was lifting some easy weights, my heart beat started to beat incredibly hard and pretty fast. I had some trouble breathing but I was able to get past that, however my hard heart beat kept going. It never stops and it is very annoying. I can see it beat right through my shirt and when im sleeping it sounds very loud. I am also starting to expierence coughing which might or might not be related to my heart. Anyways, I went to the hospital the day after I started feeling this and they ran some tests. The EKG was perfectly normal, just had a fast heart beat of approximatly 110 beats a minute. Then, they made me do a x-ray which showed a perfect heart with no problems. Then they ran a blood test which was normal. So they sent me to a cardiologist which I will go to in about a week. I will tell you what he says to me when I go. Keep praying to God because he will heal you with enough faith.

There are so many possible causes for this. By so many, I mean SO MANY. Drugs, caffeine, heart arrythmia, electrolyte imbalance, cancer, anxiety, hyperthyroidism, etc. Check it out on ***edited by moderator*** web addresses not allowed. Then ask your doctor. I don't know what
s causing mine yet, but since I also suffer from this and weakness, fatigue, excessive thirst, and other sypmtoms, I think I have something.
