I also have these simmilar problems. exept i sometimes notice my heart when im laying down, but not always, or as bad. but even the slightest activity my heart gets bad. you can see my pulse through my shirt easily most of the time. awhile back my doctor noticed something irrigular on some tests and ran more, they said that i was fine, but there was something irrigular about my heart,(my mom has the same thing) but they werent sure what. I have been in and out of the doctor many times for various problems. I would be so happy if i could get a diagnosis. im sick of hearing "somethings wrong, but we dont know what"

I am also young(28), work out quite a bit, and have this same problem. Only mine it kinda hurts when I lie down, and sometimes the palpations are so strong it feels like my heart is going to explode. Other times I get a strange pressure in my chest where my heart is. I dont smoke tobacco, I eat pretty good, I dont drink coffee or alcohol too often, I take vitamins, and I exercise regularly(but even if I do exactly the opposite this still happens)*note, sometimes its worse after a night of heavy drinking*. It has been going on for a few years now, and I have also spent a lot of time and money seeing MULTIPLE cardiologists, a pulmonary specialist, with all the tests EKG, blood tests, xrays, CT scans, heart monitor, etc with no results, except for that I am a healthy guy and shouldnt have these problems. Personally I think they are lying, or are incompetent. I did have a pnumothorax(popped lung) about 5-6 years ago, I do have pains in my chest from that, but I know how that feels and it is quite different. Plus, the pnumothorax happened on the right side of my body, the palpations are on the left side. This is getting really old, Im supposed to be healthy.

I'm a 16 year old girl, healthy and normal weight. I was diagnosed with anemia two years ago but I think I'm fine now. This rarely happens to me, and when it did it was usually in school when I drank too much coffee. I'm off of coffee now though, and it hasn't been a problem until tonight. I exercised a lot today and didn't eat much, but I drank about 6 glasses of water. I'm drinking a bottle now and I think it's helping a little. I've been eating healthy lately. I feel slight shortness of breath and an uncomfortable heartbeat. I've never seen a doctor about it, but I believe I have slight anxiety problems. I'm a little stressed right now, so that might contribute to it. I'm the kind of person that gets really paranoid about things like this, and I feel like it's making it worse :/ This is probably irrelevant, but I also feel this way after eating a meal from McDonalds (I hate McDonalds). That might just be because it's unhealthy, but not many people I know have the same feeling. It's strange that so many people have this problem.

Hi everyone.. I've just joined this forum because of this very same problem. I've been having it for years and It's killing me. I'm not sure if it might be connected with the respiratory system, I have a severe case of chronic rhinitis and chronic asthma. I almost constantly have this issue with either a very strong heart beat or some kind of pressure in the area a bit below my chest, it's extremely hard for me to even lay down and relax. Also, I'm giving a chance that it might be associated with a post-traumatic disorder, but I'm not sure whether this is the case.

I am a 18 year old guy and I have been having the same problems, i recently went through a break up and lifes been a little stressful, but nothing to the point where i've thought of suicide or anything like that. my dad has high blood pressure and i dont smoke, but my parents do.. inside the house. Could there be a connection with the smoke in the house - my dads high blood pressure - and my heart? let me know if anyone finds out because sometimes i get a little dizzy and almost feel as though im about to pass out so im a little bit concerned

I have had the same problems as most of you have. I compare how fast and strong my heart to my boyfriend's. I do suffer from depression and I have very high anxiety. I have talked to my doctors and both of them have told me I am fine and I just need to do my breathing routines. While your eyes are closed breathe in your nose for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and breathe out of your mouth for 8 seconds. I have read that a normal heart beat is 70-90 beats per 60 seconds. Mine is in the 80 range. I'm not worried about it anymore.
I hope this helps you guys!!

Hey guys, I am a 17 y/o Guy, not massively active but very very slim, and I have exactly the same issue, to the point where at times, I try to make a continuous hum and its interrupted ever so slightly by me heart beat, like I'm being thumped while talking, but only much less pronounced, and can even make my eyesight go into a flood of colours with the beat, but only very very slightly. (could this be due to blood pressure changes with each beat?)
Any explanation or theories would be much appreciated :)

Please read about GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) symptoms... I'm a 29-year-old male with many of these symptoms and pounding of the heart is one of them. I'm not a doctor but these symptoms seem to come from massive amounts of stress... and I am dealing with large amounts of stress myself. With strong heartbeat comes the inability to sleep regularly, or sleep at all... every little thing startles me... and most things make me very irritable. Come to being restless, Sleep Starts are another symptom which include one or more limbs jumping/spazzing while trying to fall asleep or the mind tricks the body into a feeling of falling... very uncomfortable/horrible feeling... as though one feels they are losing themselves. Please read up on GAD.

Hey! I have all of the same symptoms (strong heart beat, shortness of breath, fatigue) I also have chest tightness. I'm 22 and eat healthy, used to work out everyday (until I became too tired to :( ), get enough sleep, ect. This started randomly for me, but I'm seeing a cardiologist on Tuesday so hopefully this will be sorted out.

somebody should take their blood pressure next time they are experiencing this and post some results[quote]I've actually gone to the doctors when my heart was this strong. I remember lying on the table and the dr asked me if I had a headache because my blood pressure was so high. For me, when my heart beats that strong my blood pressure is around 170/80, waaayyyy to high for healthy (although slightly overweight) young adult. In fact, she was debating whether to send my to the ER because of how high it was. I don't want to assume that is what your blood pressure is, I just listed it so you could have an idea of what someone else's blood pressure is when they are experiencing a very strong heartbeat. For the record my average blood pressure --I just found out-- is around 150/70, with a resting heart rate of 55-60.
