I had a LSH on March 20, 2007. I had my uterus removed and I've been doing good. But now, I am experiencing menstrual like cramping and bloating right around what used to be my time I got my periods, (which I don't get anymore). Is this normal? Plese give me your feedback. Much appreciated!

Hi I was told by my Dr. that I should consider having this procedure because of uterin fibroids. Can you please tell me what happened during your experience and what I should look forward to? Thanks

I had LSH surgery on 9/4/07 and I still have cramps and lower back
pain, much the same as before surgery. The cramps are worse
around the time of my "period" I feel frustrated and very
disappointed to have gone through surgery and recovery with this result.
Any advice from others with the same experience would help.

I had a total ab hysterectomy over 18 months ago. I had the cramping, too. I noticed if I exercised after the 9 month marker and took things really, really slow concentrating on stretching more than lifting or bicycling and walking it helped. I excercized a few times a week for four months and cut down on caffeine or consumed very little. I was 38 and took vitamins for 50+ for a while. I watched my sugars too. Now I get cramps, but not every 26-28 days and when it comes, it last for just a few minutes and mostly doesn't return. If it returns I drink some water, stay calm and get moving around the house or go for a short walk outside. The longest cramping was on and off for about two hours.
I quit smoking 3 months ago and that seems to be helping as well. I just had two cramps today & found this post.
I hope this is helpful. I think you should see a different doctor if it keeps you up at night or prevents you from being active.

I had a total laproscopic hysterectomy two weeks ago and am overall doing well besides the cramps. I feel it has something to do with the bowels. It actually feels like labor contractions and lasts for a minute or two at a time. After a bowel movement they go away. Have been taking Gas-X and stool softeners which seem to help. I will give it a few more days to see how things go.

Had a laparoscopic supracervical procedure 3 weeks ago. Gas/ air pain was very uncomfortable!!! But lasted only 3 days. I am doing really well, but experiencing PMS for the first time since . I swear I feel cramps, but how is that possible? Could be psychosematic??!! Any insights?
