Anyway, I have also had vaginal hysterectomy done and it takes less time to recover, then after abdominal hyst. In the case of vaginal hyst, recovery time will take a week or two. In the case of abdominal hyst, recovery time is longer and these women need two months to recover. Your Mom will probably feel depressed, just be there for her.

I just had an abdominal hysterectomy two weeks ago. I stayed in the hospital for three days. Some days I feel great and then there are days I forget I just had major surgery and feels like my insides is being torn out. Its getting better everyday, I expect to be out of work for another four weeks. I'll get better in time with rest and no stress.

I just had a hysterectomy on Nov 25, 2008 some days I also feel good and then some days I don't I just wonder how long will the discharge last? I often gets real bad Gas Pains also.
