I recently got an abortion also on March the 19th. I haven't had my first cycle after the abortion yet, cause it hasn't even been two weeks exactly since then, but just like the bleeding after abortion is different in all woman, cause mine only lasted 11 days, when some woman bleed for a month, and some women bleed not at all. Anyways, all woman are different. My doctor had told me that after abortion, you menstrual cycle will go haywire. You can have it for short periods of time with heavy bleeding, or almost no bleeding at all. Or you can have spotting for up to two to three weeks as a normal cycle. Your period will eventually regulate itself. Your body has gone threw a tremendous thing. Just imagine your body was sending all kinds of pregnant hormones to the brain, then you got the abortion and those hormones slowly go away. Not only physically, but mentally your body needs to adapt to this overwhelming process of things. But I am not a doctor so I can't really have you take up all my advice as true. If it continues to be bothersome to you, to reassure yourself you can call the clinic or hospital you've had it done at and they will be glad to answer any of your questions.-Jill
