First pregnancy on methadone

Hello! I'm new to this site and group. I am 35 and almost 30 weeks with my 4th child. I'm also about to start my 4th week on MMT (methadone maintenance treatment) for previous opiate usage during the pregnancy. The reason I didn't start sooner is that I didn't have insurance due to being denied a few times but finally getting it and in turn finally being able to see an ob/gyn. I didn't stop using opiates once I found out I was pregnant because all the research I did said that is the worst thing to do because it can cause miscarriage. So I told my doctor as soon as I was seen and followed his directions. He said he has lots of patients on methadone so he is familiar. So now we're up to date :) and the baby is perfectly healthy and so am I. He even weighs more than average at his gestational age. I've done plenty of research regarding all this so I pretty much know what to expect but was wondering of there is anyone that has experienced this themselves and can give any input to their experience? Also does anyone know anything about the apgar testing and at what score do they consider a good enough score for the baby to go home? Any advice/input would be much appreciated as this is my first pregnancy on methadone. Thank you very much!!!
