I am glad to know that its not just me,but i feel for every one thats being driven bonkers by this problem,it is NOT an allergy..ive had this with me constantly for approx. 5 years,at times i think i may lose my mind over it...feels as if a tiny bit of liquid is running outy of my ear,it ITCHES so badly at times that i cant do anything til i make it stop, but it always comes back..i have changed pretty much everything in my life at some point because of this, the only thing i can think of is its related to my teeth, which are having major enamel breakdown,i cannot afford to see a regular md so a dentist is on my "if i win the lotto" list..ive tried all the things mentioned here (the ear candles freaked me out because im not comfortable with fire next to my head)..the dizziness/vertigo and nausea/exhausted feelings have had a severe effect on my life, its gotta go because i cant keep feeling thisway every single day!!!

Okay Harley, I had the same problem as you. With me, it went on for months and fluid leaking from my ears, especially whilst sleeping. I also came onto the forums to try and find answers. I went to my local GP who said they were infected. I had them cleaned 5 times in 5 weeks and I was sent away with ear drops. I then insisted on going to the infirmary at Doncaster. I was then met by a fantastic nurse who told me everything that the doctor had previously done was incorrect. She then proceeded to vacuum my ears out, followed by some dressing in the inside of my ear canals which I kept in for approx. 4 days. I went back, she took out the dressing and put cream inside the ear canals for a further 3 days. I then went back, where she removed the cream and vacuumed out my ears yet again. At last this treatment has seemed to work as no fluid is coming from my ears. ''Your ears leak fluid because it is fighting the infection inside your ear canals'' I hope this can be of some help to you.

Do you have yellowish, light greenish drainage going on in your ear? I do. It's smelly. and nasty. When the wind blows i get a funky whiff of it.  How nasty is that?lol And not to mention embarrassing, especially when my husband want to get fresh around my neck and ear!!! lol OMG I can't stand it. My ear leaks nonstop and the fluid is thick and has a yellow/greenish color and I also have to clean it with qtips constantly. It builds up to like a hard rock consistantsy and i dig in there with anything i can find that will be able to pull out the mass of dried nastiness..ugh! this is very gross. I mostly use a safety pin needle to carefully poke around till i find the hard spot and try my best to work it out without injuring my ear. but i have been doing this since i was 16 and now im 33 . It started with a surgery in my left ear to remove a be-nine tumor that was growing and pushing on Equal Librium and making me very dizzy. when it was first discovered, the tumor, at 16 years old, i was bumping into everything and criss crossing my steps and it appeared that i was drunk like.lol so that was really odd. i went to the doctor and found out about that tumor. So they removed most of the tumor and left some behind because it was still attached to the brain. They might risk hitting a nerve that would cause "drop face" on one side. didn't want to be looking like that so now im dealing with this nasty ear issue. If anyone knows what i could do to stop this leaking im all EARS...lol!!! Oh yeah, if you don't clean ur ear of the crusting, it will become backed up. the fluid has to go somewhere and you know you might even have a build up that is rock hard and you may not know it. the ear nose and throat doctor removed mine once, thats how i knew to look for it in the first place. now i just take the needle and pull it out myself now. beats paying the doctor. ive been doing this for years and u can hurt yourself if not careful and u may not get it out the first try. sometime i might pick at mine for a week before i find the right spot in there where its all hardened and can get it out. please don't hurt yourself. this is just what "I" do. no one else told me or suggested i do the needle cleaning of my own ear, but when it has a full feeling and itchy and draining and stinky and sticky...I had to do something!!!! my doctor laughed at me too BUT he knew to look for a clog in there. thank goodness. email me if u have a question or a suggestion.

I have that too --  by accident it has cleared up.  I took probiotics for 2 - 3 weeks for a different reason and the ear cleared up.  When it comes back again I take some more.  I do not know why.  I'll ask my doctor (I do not work for the probiotics industry) so you might ask your doctors because maybe there is something in it that works.  I do not know what causes the problem in the first place still though.

I have had the same issue for several years now.  A clear liquid leaks, especially at night when I'm laying down.  When I have any kind of congestion it gets really bad and I sometimes can not hear.  I've been to doctors and specialists who all insist my ears are great.

When I started going to an upper cervical chiropractor last summer ago for an unrelated issue, I noticed that it happened less frequently.  When I was going regularly it stopped completely.  I have not gone in a few months and noticed that I am having the same issue.

I also had a massuese working on my neck and unsolicitely asked if I had ear issues. She said that neck vertabrae can sometimes pinch things that would otherwise work fine.

I currently go to a regular chiropractor and have not felt a difference regarding my ears, but the upper cervical one seemed to work great.  It's worth a try if it bugs you that much.  And HOLY MOLY DOES IT BUG ME!

Hi Joelena,
Just quickly, the fact that your particular discharge has a bad odour, definitely means that you have an infection on top of the problem that the rest of us have, since the majority here haven't mentioned any unpleasant odour, as is the case with mine which is also colourless & very liquid, almost like warm (body temp) WATER. In my earliest 20's I had a painful infection in one ear only, & the smell was horrendous. An ex- work colleague was in the ENT's waiting room, & also mentioned an embarrassing odour with his problem. I had some meds put inside & dressing which felt like it was going all the way into the middle of my head (painless though). This was only removed about 4 days later & I haven't had another problem until this one, 30+yrs LATER! I can message you a private possibility which the ENT shared with me if you like.
Good luck getting rid of that infection & later with the rest too of course!
I'm going to carry on with my current dilemma / 'case' in a mo.

Dear fellow 'sticky ears':-S

OMG! What a relief on discovering that I am not alone.:-| Mine began MILDEST about 2 years ago, soon after I STUPIDLY followed advice from one or some on another Alternative Health site, to clean ears out with a diluted Peroxide solution!;-|   My ears had been perfect for at least 35yrs, so why I heeded this advice, BEAT ME!:-@  I know for a fact that the H.Peroxide started it, but because it left only the inner ear canal really sticky, I frequently & STUPIDLY kept repeating it, simply for relief & so that I could HEAR properly too.XD

Then, only about a week or so ago, the heavy leaking began in earnest!:-| Again, I used undiluted Peroxide on a piece of cotton wool, just to wipe the inner flappy ear part out, and OMGOODNESS! I've now got a CHRONIC leaking problem. Quote mreynaga: "A clear liquid leaks, especially at night when I'm laying down. When I have any kind of congestion it gets really bad and I sometimes can not hear."  I'm too embarrassed to wear my hair up or behind my ears, because the dried crusty stuff is visible. :'(

I am going to use my Rife Frequency Generator to address those possibilities mentioned by a # of you guys. i.e. Allergy, Bacteria etc. ~ in fact, knowing me, I'll most probably go over-board again, but I have nothing to lose & only lots to hopefully gain.:-)

I'll definitely keep you ALL posted.  Let's pray that it works, because none of us can carry on with this nonsense.  :-)

Love & LIGHT & a solution to one & ALL,

@nnie ~ South Africa ~<3

Maybe this Asian practitioner thought that CANDY was your nickname because of a sweet tooth craving???

GUESS WHAT Guys! I found a CHEAP & instant cure!
It's a product made in South Africa, but I'm not sure who'd supply it direct, so here goes with a supplier in AUSTRALIA:
http://www.satooz.com/search.php?search_query=zambuk
My leaky ears were at their very WORST yesterday, so just before bed, I got the ZAMBUK and smeared it from top to bottom of my inner / 'sticky-out part' of bother ears, & VOILA! I swear on my OATH that everything appears to have GONE today!
I shall naturally continue for a few days &/or only nights!
This ZAMBUK is what 75% of the Black population in South Africa use for ANYTHING & EVERYTHING skin related, & now I know why.
It's apparently excellent for pets too. HOORAY!
Mine's GONE guys ~ good luck with yours!
Love & LIGHT,

HI: I feel for you. I have the exact same thing, except I have very mild headaches and a tiny bit of pressure in the ear as well.. My ear is so itchy I dig q tips in it all the time.. It feels like there's bugs in my ear and drives me crazy.. It is pretty pathetic that any Dr will laugh at this.. Seems like some just think you're crazy.. I have read through several blogs on this problem and it seems that we're not alone.. Seems quite common.. The only thing i have not tried is the allergy pills, which I will try tomorrow.. Even if it is that spinal fluid leak, some say it just goes away on its own.. I have this all the time.. and it drives me crazy.....

Definitely not a CFS.  There is a taste to CFS.  Sounds more like ear canal eczema.  Could be allergies or yeast causing it.  Ear canals are dark and moist and is the perfect breeding ground.  Hydro-cortisone ear drops or cream usually works but you have to keep at it forever.  Derm Otic is a prescribed eardrop that is very helpful.  Been there and done that for a long time.  Another helpful treatment are Acedic eardrops.  You can make your own using oil and white vinegar.  Google it to get the ratio of each ingredient and type of oil.  I have been under ENT care for 7 years and even the ENT doc recommended  this as long as you do not have a ruptured eardrum.

hello im 16 and i have this type for about 2 months now, my ear has been crusty and slow leaks clear fluid  i cant see but when i feel my lobe its all wet, when i leave it crusty no leaks but i get leaks when i pick at it (as the scabs look disgusting) it got pretty big at one stage that the scabs developed around my ear, (i started to think it was an infection) i use to stretch my ear and since i started stretching i been having problems, my doctor has put me on (antibiotics) i now have no piercing, but the antibiotics seemed to work, i was taking them for 2 weeks, and my massive scabs went down, its starting to clear up, i been off antibiotics about a week now, and im starting to think its slowly coming back. i am not sure, my doctor says its an infection but i haven't been wearing my earrings since that day he put me on antibiotics, is there any ideas what i might have =S i just don't think its an infection,
