After having four children I know the difference between gas, digestion, and baby kicking.  This sensation feels a lot like the sensation of when you are in the very early stages of pregnancy sans nausea, weight gain, and frequent urination.  This feels like when you first feel the baby movement that is equivalent to a little flutter.  I can put my hand over my left and upper part of my stomach and feel it through my skin.  I'm 63 years of age and you know I'm not pregnant because I haven't had a period in several years.

It comes and goes for days on end and then as suddenly as it started it stops.  Someone in the medical field please answer this.  I don't want anyone giving me some contrived answer like gas, digestion or such nonsense.  This is weird and when I first felt it I thought about women who have gotten pregnant after menopause.  I would hate to be one of those women because I don't want anymore children.  It would be a disaster for me and my loving husband.  We've both have had four children a piece and have a total of 11 grandchildren between our own offspring.  He has two daughters and two sons and I have three daughters and a son.  We have not had children together.

It doesn't hurt when I feel the fluttering.  There are no other systems other than that sensation.
