Hey im 16 years old and i've been with girls before in a sexual manner but not all the way. Im pretty sure that soon enough my girlfriend and i are going to have sex but im worried about my penis. I have problems pulling my foreskin down (not to cover the head but to allow it to b seen). I dont think its the problem with the forskin itself but a little chord thing thats joined from my actual head near the penis hole to my foreskin not allowing me to pull it down. I heard that if this occurs such as the chord is to short it can hurt and even bleed during sex and i would not like this to occur. Please im in urgent need of some advice/ help.

Hi Raddish,

That little chord thing is called a frenulum. In some cases it is too short and it sounds as though yours might be. Yes, it can rip or tear during sex. There are lots of nerves there so it will hurt. It will also bleed.

Best bet, get it lengthened. There is a procedure called a frenulectomy. They basically make a couple of small cuts that will allow it to lengthen.

Check with a urologist about this. They would do the procedure, usually in their office.

Hope it helps. Let us know how you do.

Oh yeah, wear a condom later on!
