Ok guys. I didn't really know where to write this problem but I guess this would be the right place. hahah

So, yesterday @ work I bumped my elbow on a door and it was my funny bone and it seriously hurt MORE THAN EVER. And about 5 seconds after hitting it, I started to black out and almost passed out and couldn't stand up right. I kept falling backwards. Then after feeling like I was going to pass out I started to feel really sick. And had a hard time remembering things. It was so strange. Can anyone explain why all this happened to me even though all I did was hit a sensitive spot on my elbow?! Thanks!!

I would guess that since it is really just a nerve, you set off some sort of natural reaction.

That is a complete guess. I'm only 14 therefore have no idea what I'm saying

yeah that happend to me once also. I could function right at all and i felt as tho i was about to throw up!
i couldnt hear anything either? and then eventually it was almost as if u turned a radio down and then slowly turned it back up again
then it became really intensified and almost as tho i was deaf then hear a really loud sound for the first time?
Your brain shuts down sensory functions to protect itself. It prefers not to be in pain. If the pain or shock (tricks the brain into expecting more pain that there will be) is strong enough you will black out so you don't have to deal with it. Your brain will reactivate sensory functions when it determines it is safe again. It must keep some small amount of awareness to do that.sometimes intense pain like that can cause all the blood from your head to rush, to make the pain go away.Body's defense against pain. Your body was reacting to damage. It's normal.
