My son keeps complaining on gagging feeling after meals. I suspect on GERD, but I am not sure if gagging is the symptom of it. He doesn’t complain on anything else, but he also refused to see a doctor about it. If it is GERD, I think I can help him, but how can I be sure?

Gagging feeling after meals would be less common, but possible sign of GERD, people with GERD have swallowing problems. Diagnosing GERD must be done in meds office. He palpably needs a special X-ray called a barium swallow. This x ray can show the refluxing of liquid into the esophagus, and it can show whether the esophagus is irritated or whether there are any physical abnormalities in the upper digestive tract.
