Can someone please advise me on your thoughts regardinging the gall badder surgery and a liver biopsy I had 1 year ago.
It was to be in and out surgery, however, shortly after surgery, while in recovery, I bled out. My entire body cavity was being flooded with blood. Hours went by before a nurse noticed that I was not responding and looked under the sheet to see that I was bleeding enternally. After 5 days in critical condition in the ICU, hooked to a breathing machine, dialysis, four blood transfusions and losing 20 pounds, I was sent home.
Here's the question, with all the blood spilling into my body, the spot vacated by the removal of the gall bladder , was filled up and still remains filled with blood. After, 5 ultra sounds, a cat scan, it's not reducing in size. I found this out by complaining about pain in my side. I need to know how dangerous this is if I do nothing, can it cause a possible blood infection? Other health issues?
Also, think there's a case to sue the hospital and doctor for negligence?
Thanks

Surgury is not an exact science. There are risks. Always.
It does seem a little off that no one noticed the bleeding.
I think you need a follow up exam by your doctor. Something still isn't right.
