Hi. I'm 28 year old male and I would like to find out more about one very serious medical condition!
Just recently my girlfriend has noticed that her lymph nodes are a bit swollen and that her throat is very sore.
She thought that it is part of some simple cold but things were much more serious. Later she has developed difficulties with swallowing and jaw muscle spasm. I took her immediately to see a doctor which suspects that it could be part of some Quinsy syndrome. Can someone tell me more about this?

Hello. I'm very sorry that your girlfriend has to go through all this because I know how unpleasant all this could be.
In generally, when someone talks about Quincy syndrome he thinks about tonsil abscess.
Abscess means localized and serious inflammation.
There are several symptoms and you have already mentioned some of them. Other include head tilt and very high fever! In most of the cases- only cure is operation called tonsillectomy- removing of tonsils. Only in mild cases, some strong antibiotics could help, without the operation.
