I've been getting the same feeling, usually at night. My forehead begins tingling and I hear sort of like an extremely high frequency sound. King of like the sound your first hear when you turn the television on. If I stay laying down my heart begins to raise fast for no reason, and I begin to get tense, irritable, and jittery as though I drank lots of caffeine. But I do not drink caffeine. During these times coincidentally I always hear my neighbors upstairs footsteps above me. Sometimes I walk around and I instantly began to relax, but when the neighbors end up above me again, I begin getting the sensations all over again.

I started with terrible symptoms last year.... fuzzy headed like fog coming in, double vision, prickly feelings in left arm and hand, pain in left side of head.... my mri was "normal"... also checked for Lyme disease, Mythenas Gravis, Temporal Arteritis and multiple eye checks... Lasted 3 months... and was "tipsy" at times and had full body spasms 3x at night.... Neurologist had diagnosis and said if the symptoms come back he will order a spinal tap... Did you have one? Now a year later after much work stress and high temps of 90 degree weather the symptoms are back only not the double vision...mostly the fatigue, the head buzz and funny vision....... I feel it's MS, but doctors are very reluctant to give this diagnosis since there are so many variables with symptoms.... I wish you luck....

I have experienced the same symptoms mentioned. I think I've found something that helps me. Drink gatorade or the drinks that replenish electrolytes daily. I think my electrolytes were low due to dehydration and use of antihistamines. ( I use "ultima replenisher" from Whole Foods) I also started taking a vitamin D supplement. This has greatly helped in about a week. No buzz last night at all. This is not medical advice-- just sharing what works for me

My daughter who is 14 suffers moments of buzzing in her brain, lasting between a few seconds, up too two minutes. She also can get rapid eye shifts that are slight movements but fast. She had an EEG and is now waitin a CAT scan. The eeg showed no seizure activity. They are trying to rule out MS, or tumor. If nothing shows she'll be refered to a neurologist. She has a history of Migraine headaches. You are not alone.

The first time this ever happened to me I had taken a 200 mg caffiene pill for energy and to loose weight. I was sitting at my desk and i felt the minor electricution feeling start. Within seconds my head went straight down on my desk. i could hear people talking to me but i could not respond. Lasted probably 20 seconds that seemed hours. The hospital tested and said the only thing they could find was low potassium.

Zappyhead here also, or was rather. CT showed a dehydrated brain... increased water and electrolytes (gatorade) and it decreased. The brain can be like a nuclear reactor, needs lots of fluids to keep cool. From my gut, for me and some others I read, I believe it's mostly a result of excess brain activity, though for some it seems to be caffeine or other dehydrating agents. Excess brain activity is easily cured with Tolle.
Cut back stimulants, increase electrolytes, decrease thought. Worked for me.
Best wishes

I have had these electric buzzing feelings for a few years but it is an occasional experience. I get them maybe 1 - 2 times per month if that much.
I do not take medication period, but I do consume coffee and tea regularly.
First, I would like to describe a typical day for me.
I tend to wake up and sleep at any godforsaken hour of the day. I eat 3 square meals, breakfast around 6 AM, lunch around 3 PM and dinner around 8 PM. I also eat snacks if I get hungry...so I'm pretty much always stuffed like a jack-rabbit. I tend to work online, so my lifestyle is pretty easy going without any labour.
I am also pretty fit with abs and in my early twenties.
Here is the weird day I had. (This is an extremely unusual chain of events)
Woke up at 4 PM yesterday, had dinner at 7 PM and I was up all night until Today. At 6 AM I had a cup of coffee without breakfast. I went to bed right after because I wanted to avoid an unexpected guest of my Mother's. (almost never happens)
I woke up at 11 AM due to a heavy thunderstorm shower that started flooding out the entrance of the house and creeping inside. (again...this never happens) I had to literally jump off my bed and without a bite to eat or drink, grab a large bucket and toss water over an embankment. I must have filled and emptied it over a hundred times in order for the flood waters to subside and was completely drenched. I risked the exposure to over 20 lightening strikes while thunder cracked and roared. Before, I went back inside, I was already feeling the electricity flowing through my brain.
The buzz remained for at least half an hour and I did feel thirsty and had an empty core feeling...not sure if that was some sort of dry hunger feeling as my stomach wasn't growling at all.
So, what do you think of that?

LOOK INTO CHELATION AND CHELA-DETOX ALL NATURAL SUPPLEMENTS. THANK GOD I FIGURED IT OUT AND CURED MYSELF OTHERWISE I WAS HEADING TO PSYCHOSIS... IT WAS RUINING MY LIFE AND I COULD NOT WORK OR FOCUS, HYPER SENSITIVE TO SOUNDS AND INPUT. BAD MIGRAINES. I KEPT SAYING " I FEEL LIKE I AM LOSING MY MIND." DETOX, DETOX, DETOX AND BUY ORGANIC, DRINK ONLY PURIFIED WATER. RE-NUTIRENT AND RE-MINERALIZE YOURSELF. EAT TONS OF GARLIC, CILANTRO, PARSLEY, BEETS, TUMERIC. IT WAS A TERRIBLE FEELING AND MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL, BUT SERIOUSLY, YOU NEED TO DETOX. IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. I AM GOING TO ALL MESSAGE BOARDS TO POST THIS MESSAGE AND SHARE WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND HOW I CURED MYSELF. CHELA-DETOX.

This happens to me as well, since I was about 16, 17. I'm 37 now. This always seemed to happen to me when I get slightly creeped out (get the feeling like someone is in the room with me, or watching me when I don't know they are there, walking down a stairwell into a dark celler.. etc... I used to think that perhaps I was able to sense spirits, and that maybe that I was feeling their energy around me. It would go away if I stopped what I was doing/thinking/walk back the other way, and would get worse if I didn't. For example...... one time I was staying over a friends new house, he had just moved. In my guest room was a creepy looking small closet door, about 1 1/2 feet high (later to find it was an entrance to a crawlspace). If you opened the door, it was completely black in there. One day I opened it up, and immediately got this sensation. And I thought, immediately, this house is haunted. I looked away, and it went away. I looked back, and boom there was the feeling again. I remeber testing that a couple of times. One time I didn't look away, I stared in into the blackness, and it got really, really intense. To the point where I thought I was going to loose consciousness. So I looked away, and it went away.
Just now, what made me google this, I walked into my basement getting ready to watch tv. I walked into a dark back room where we keep the fridge, and I get the feeling. I look away, and it goes away. I look back and walk deeper into the room, and it gets stronger. Even just *thinking* about this and typing it out... makes it come in a smaller, fashion.
I can't really say that it is unpleasant. It isn't pleasant in any way, it just feels weird. It used to give me comfort thinking that someone who passed is guarding me.
Now, that I'm older. I immediately start thinking I have brain cancer and am going to die in a month.
I, too, have tried talking to people/drs/etc about this and I get the blank, questioning, stare and cocked to one side head.

I posted earlier about dehydration and excessive thought being the culprits of this. To me they are relevant but I apologize that I omitted what I have experienced as a primary cause. I did so because I'm apprehensive to talk about spirituality in a medical forum. But so be it... Research awakening and you'll see the following to be common. Over the past few years and presently energy is being poured unto the earth to assist in individuals awakening. That is that their spirit wakes up and takes control over the flesh. The goal then is to cleanse the body and quiet the mind so the spirit can synchronize with the positive energies. Humbug me all you want, I wouldn't write this without having seen and experienced too much to deny this. Anyways....
As the spirit awakens, it's unflappable default mode of good and positivity takes over, lest our free will decree otherwise. The spirit grows and it's vibrational frequency increases causing the physical body to grow in knd. I don't know if being more cerebral or left brain dominant causes a greater amount of remapping or rewiring of the brain, but it is part of the natural process of awakening.
If you are awakening, there's no reason to deny it and seeking sites, forums, videos, books or local groups that can aid you in the process can be of great help. The process can be very difficult at first as our medically trained minds think that if we feel something it;s bad, when it's quite the opposite. By now there are many people that were higher level spirits that have incarnated to help mankind and earth through a transition. They're referred to as starseeds, indigos, crystals and rainbows. Many are children now but they are of all ages and once they are awakened, they make excellent mentors. By now about 80% of children born are higher than average level spirits and so it's quite possible you could be one as well. Seek and you'll find. Kind wishes, Jason

I have been going through the most stressful period of my 62 years of life in this world the last few months. This buzzing has started in the past week when the stress level went through the ceiling. I swear when I raise my eyebrows (eyes go up too), crickets light up in nerve endings in the eye area. It is alarming. Guess, thankfully, I'm not alone. This has got to be stress triggered, or, oh my, age related, in my case.

I also get the electrical pulse feeling inside my brain. It's a cross between an electrical feeling and a vibration. They last for about one second, cause me to have to blink/close my eyes briefly because at the same time the pulse is happening, my eyes are basically rolling back into a "sleep position". I will jerk my head a little to wake my brain back up. This all happens during that one second of time and will repeat itself over and over, sometimes every 30 seconds, sometimes every 5 seconds... until I have become exhausted and overcome with a forcible urge to sleep.
These symptoms are just one of many that are part of my NARCOLEPSY. It took over 14 years and over 20 doctors and specialists of ALL KINDS before ONE doctor sat me down and asked me to describe my sleepiness. My response was one word... DEBILITATING. She sent me to a sleep specialist... It was as if EVERY single doctor, outside of his specialty, had never heard of these symptoms I had explained to them for years! My family thought I was lazy, my doctors thought I just needed to exercise and get more rest, and THEY ALL said the same thing after doing lab work on me... the all would tell me "Your test results came back fine, but you have a urinary tract infection! Because they saw excessive white blood cells in my urine.
I was absolutely annoyed with explaining these things to yet "another specialist". But.... there I was again! so I began to explain all of the different things that I felt throughout my body and in my brain itself. He completely understood and could explain what I was feeling. He told me he has a strong opinion that I had NARCOLEPSY and asked me to do a series of tests that would help him make a diagnosis. I spent the night at doctors office, where they have bedrooms set up. They attached about 50-60 wires with sensors on to my scalp. these sensors relayed all kinds of information about what my brain was doing that night as I slept. Then the next day I continued the tests. I was told to hang out in the "office bedroom" watch tv, read or do whatever I wanted. But I was NOT ALOUD TO FALL ASLEEP for 2 hours, at the 2 hour mark they would come into the room and say "ok, you have 20 minutes! Go to sleep" this cycle went on a total of 4 times.
I had a VERY hard time with this test. One, because I would get VERY sleepy, the technician would call over a speaker and tell me to stay awake. "the sensors could detect my brain falling asleep" and when my nap time came I would fall fast asleep, but It was extremely difficult to wake back up and stay awake.
after the test was complete I went home. The doctor then studied all of the data from the tests. When I went in for my results he showed me exactly what was happening to me and why I was feeling each symptom that now had individual names to them! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING to me to actually see on paper all of these different graphs. It reminded me of what you would see if you looked at a heartbeat on a monitor, but dozens of them. He showed me on the graphs where the electrical pulses I was feeling were. He also showed me the difference between a normal brains patterns and a narcoleptic brains patterns. He told me that when a normal functioning brain starts a nap/sleep cycle that it will take between 7-14 MINUTES before the brain reaches REM. (REM is the cycle when dreaming occurs and it happens as the brain goes thru a series of different levels of sleep throughout the night... over and over) My brain showed that REM was happening within 10 SECONDS!, sometimes immediately during my naps. It also showed that my brain was experiencing REM sporadically throughout the day. He said THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE EXPERIENCING when you feel that "pulse/electrical/zap"
After working with me for about 9 months to tweak and change a combination of different medications I finally reached what we agreed was the best combination for me and my symptoms. He explained that it will never be "perfect" because there is no cure for narcolepsy. not only is there no cure, but every person who has narcolepsy has a unique set of symptoms and the levels of those symptoms are also unique, therefore treatment needs to be geared to that person's specific needs. That takes time, patience and support from not just the doctor but the patient's family as well.
He also sent me to a Rheumotologist to begin to find out if I had an autoimmune disease. He explained that the white blood cells in my urine could possibly be a sign of autoimmune disease and that there are now studies pointing to that as being a "trigger" for narcolepsy.
After many tests... they found my autoimmune disease. called Ankylosing Spondylitis. It is a disease that causes my immune system to attack my spine and can cause "Bamboo spine" or the curving over of the spine. and because this affects my spinal column it can also cause complications in my central nervous system, it can cause IRITIS (which I had in the past)
Hope this helps anyone suffering like I used to and encourages you to look into seeing a sleep specialist.
Tammy
