Yeah, it's cool to be a vegetarian. Everyone should be one. Let the animals overpopulate. Destroy our farms, plants, Pollute the soil and air with feces, urine, flatulence, etc. Let them kill each other because of the overpopulation and scatter the lands with rotting carcasses that no one would dare touch. It wouldn't be out of hunger, but jealousy, or territorial reasons.
If everyone in the world went Vegetarian, I can honestly say, the world would end.

Could it be a possiblity that it has just become a habit?
If this is the case then regardless of the change of dietary intake then you will continue to feel tired. Perhaps mix up your afternoon routine to do something more stimulating and see if it helps :-P

It has already been posted that this is occurring even though large portions of food is not being consumed. That is the problem Our bodies are reacting as if we had eaten a large Thanksgiving meal when we have not. In my case, it feels like my body just crashes as if my energy was just sucked right out of me. I will be fine one minute then get extremely tired and go into a haze the next. It always starts 30 min to an hour after eating anything. Something as simple as a snack causes that reaction so the quantity of food is not the issue. A little tiredness after eating is normal, but extreme tiredness is not.

I have the same problem. When I get eat I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open. I seem to have this problem in conjunction with digestive problems. I have had "irritable bowel" since I was a teen. It has fgotten pretty chronic now. I get lots of acid reflux and diarrhea. Tums and Immodium everyday helps ESP the tums ease the tiredness. I have a hard time avoiding coffee so that is part of the problem. I am very interested in hearing other peoples' experiences and any info about causes and solutions. I really want to get this under control!

Thank You! At last, someone knows what he/she is talking about. I had the same problem. As matter of fact, I just had some fried chicken that makes me feel like I had taking a bottle of sleeping pills. I felt so tired and my kids trying to asked me questions, I was so tired and I was being so mean to them to brush them off. I'm actually considerable skinny or not overweight at all. I don't always had this problem, but it has been in the past few years. Now just a little more serious. I do had GERD, which probably why my disgestive tract could be part of the issue. I am allergic to DAIRY products, maybe other food that I'm not aware of. I also few other issues that may cause blood loss and tissue regenerate, thus it will make me tire. BUT...I believe there is more to it than that. I do understand turkey or pasta can make a person feel tire and sleepy, but the tireness that I felt, it almost like let me sleep in my now or I will pass out in front of you. i was knocked out asleep in less a minute... No joke! I will get my insulin and diabetic a check to be sure.

This will sound weird, but here's something that works for me: Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). As a bonus, it also tastes terrible! :)
Number One: Don't use this if you're allergic to Apples!!
Also Number One: Always see a doctor and see if they can give you a proper diagnosis for your own unique problems.
That being said, here's my story!
I feel slightly better almost immediately after a dose of ACV, but can tell a definite difference after the second or third doses. I will hit it hard for the first 3 or 4 days, with 3 doses per day: first thing in the a.m, then with lunch and before dinner. I'll then back down to once per day, then once every couple of days, then once per week.
Here's my method, maybe it will work for you:
1) Fill a shot glass 1/2 full of ACV. Fill the other 1/2 with Apple Juice or Cranberry Juice.
2) Prepare a chaser - you'll need it! I have a small glass of the same apple juice or cranberry juice ready. I've also used water with a dash of apple juice so it cuts down on the sugar intake.
3) Quickly knock back the ACV - try to get it to the back of your throat right away so you don't have to taste it so much. You don't want it washing around in your mouth. It won't hurt you - but it tastes terrible!
4) Drink the chaser. You'll want to be sure it's ready because you'll definitely want something to drink.
Remember: Don't use this if you're allergic to apples. Other vinegars are made of other things, like grapes. Check around. I happen to like ACV because it's slightly less harsh than straight white vinegar. Also, remember that vinegar is an acid which can harm your teeth and hurt your stomach. You don't want to overdo this, so you hit it hard and then gradually work down to a maintenance dose. I have a friend whose husband carries around water (all day/everyday) which is laced with ACV! I think this is excessive, but he swears by this as the reason he stays slim and never gets sick!
By the way - believers in ACV mention that it can help you lose weight because it also helps stop craving sweets. And all of our grandmothers have claimed the healthy benefits of vinegar in general.
Anyway, as I said, when I use it, my head clears and I regain logic and focus and best of all: I don't fall asleep instantly after eating.
I hope this works for you as well as it works for me! And for the record, feeling lethargic and forced to fall asleep after eating is not normal. I battle with this too, so you aren't alone.
Try the ACV and don't be cussing me when you taste it! :) Best Wishes!
