I have a query about the dietary restrictions that are placed on gout patients. I am asking this in relation to a dinner I am planning at my house next week. One of the guests has gout. Do I need to cook a separate meal for him? I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Nothing so drastic that they can NEVER have it. Generally alcohol makes gout much worse, while cherry juice improves it. Perhaps you can serve cherry juice instead of red wine, so your guest can still in the fun and look the same as everyone else, but they'll be drinking them health, instead of to a hangover :-)!
