Oh wow, I cant believe so many others have the same thing as me. I am too a big girl. I weigh 260 and wear a size 20. I had a baby a year ago tomorrow. I lost weight while pregnant due to gestational diabetes. But after I had baby I gained it all back plus 20lbs within 6 months. I was blaming it on the fact that I was put on high blood pressure pills because I know they can cause weight gain.

I got my first period after baby in june. it was normal and so was july. Then in august it last a month, I stopped bleeding for 2 days and it started again. I spotting/bled all the way from august til dec. I went to the dr and she did a pap, it came back acus but she said that was nothing to do with the bleeding and just to repeat the pap in a year. She also did blood work and it all came back normal. She wanted me to go for an ultrasound to rule out fibriods but I lost my insurance and havent gotten it back yet.

I had no period or bleeding at all in Dec. I got my period again on Jan 3rd and it hasnt stopped since. It has slowed down but not stopped. Right now I have been bleeding 9 days and its been heavy with huge clots. I am leaking through a super plus tampon in an hour at the moment!

I am really starting to think it has something to do with the weight gain. I think I need to get off my butt and exercise. Did anyone else fine out what was causing their bleeding?

Well , I am 24 and facing the same issue.. Went to the gynec and discovered that I had PCOS AND was insulin resistant...And all advice I have been getting is to shed weight.Well lot of people don't have there periods regularly but can get pregnant which is of course possible . But the thing we have to remember is People who don't have their periods normally ,don't ovulate properly which means less chances to get pregnant than an average/normal person ...

So its upto us .. Do we want improve our chances or wait for the miracle to happen to get pregnant when chances are few...
I am sure if we loose even a bit of our weight our circumstance will improve.. :-D

Hi...I also have been having irregular periods, have had 2 only every 3 months and then really light. But for the last 3 weeks they are so heavy, I've been for a blood test and all is ok, hormones, blood sugar, thyroid, etc I need to do an iron test still but am taking iron anyways as prob am low due to this. Anyway I'm not overweight, prob more underweight if anything...so everyone is prone to this. I took transemic acid pills for 4 days to stop the bleeding but it didn't help. Now I have bought serenity cream and it's day one of use today...it's a progesterone cream to balance my hormones. I have been feeling tired and frustrated...more from the worry of not knowing what is causing this...i have had a smear test last month and that is normal too. I know it can be pre menopause too, but that is if you are in your 40s onwards, but can start in your 30s too... Anyway will keep you updated :-)

Hello i myself am 25 years of age i have been having irregular periods since 17 so ive kinda became comfortable with when they come they come. i too am a plus size woman size 26-28 330 pounds now i know the weight issue has alot to do with it well i think but even at 17 at 220 i was having the same problems. id go a year with out a period then it stays for months or weeks the longest period ive ever had was 3 months on and off now im approaching 4 off and off. ive been on birthcontrol before but since my body wasnt use to it it didnt take afffect right away. i feel drained alot ,weak and my energy is gone. i hate the way the clots feel coming out and because of that i hate them on me so i am constantly in the bathroom washing them off or flushing them. sometimes the flow will slow all the way down and even go away for a few days during that time i try to sneak in sex with my husband but as i orgasm or in the middle of it theres more blood and i bleed heavier. i have huge clots medium and little the pain from cramps is usually gone with 3 ibuprofen for me but i have no insurance right now cause its too high for my budget and what i want. i feel like i need more blood so i am about to start taking iron pills but im tired of bleeding i wish there were somethings we could do to stop this without paying a arm and leg and always running to the doctor.

I am overweight right now but am getting ready to start a new lifestyle of eating and exercise.  My doctor diagnosed me as to having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).  I have been experiencing irregular periods, I had not had a period for 3 months and then all of a sudden it came on and has been on for 2 months with clotting.  She did a uterine biopsy and it came back normal, I prayed and stood in faith that I did not have cancer.  My faith was really tried these last couple of months, but God is faithful (John 1:9).  I know everyone does not believe in prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus, but that is all I could do.

Girls, don't be afraid of going to the doctor, I dred going there also but it it is needed.  My doctor is not sure why I am bleeding for so long but she prescribed Lysteda, which is supposed to stop the bleeding.  I have not taken it because when I read the warnings it suggested that people who have clots should not take it. But when I talked to the nurse, she said this is a different type of clotting.  So I may take it I'm not sure.  I looked up the reviews for this medicine online, and some did ok and some did not.

However, all in all, I'm going to continue to trust in prayer and I believe that I am healed from the PCOS and this abnormal bleeding and clotting. And I will come back soon and inform of my results.

Give prayer and the Word of God a try.

I really cant go to the docotor cuz i have no insurance and i cant offord it. I just wish it would go away. the over weight thing cant be the full issue cuz my sis in law is a small person and she bleed for 4 months and all the docotors she went to didnt know what was going on and then finially she stop and now is having normal perionds agian. But is really a releif to see this is more common than i thougt. i think i might just suck it up and go to the doc to try and get this problem solved

Alot of people in my family have this same exact thing. Im worried i have it too as i am a heavy girl and wish nothing more than to conceive a baby. My period has been going for almost 2 months. It took a short 4-5 day break and i thought it was over until it just started back up again like nothing. I dont have cramps too bad but am getting weaker by the day. Everytime i go to the doc there is nothing wrong... Is this something i should be worried about?
