I had hammertoe surgery on my little toe nine months ago.  I had problems wearing shoes for several months, then found some open shoes with a loop around the big toe - wonderful!  I bought about six pairs of these shoes and I had no pain as long as the toe was not touching anything.  Then winter came.  I can't wear any of my closed shoes without pain in that toe.......and my feet would freeze in the summer sandals.  I am still hopeful that the toe will heal completely but I wonder if something is wrong and should I see another orthopedic surgeon?  Any suggestions would be appreciated!
