Hello everyone. The kidneys are the answer as described by Bobby, I am a 23 year old female with weak kidneys and experience that achy feeling many of you have described when I need to go. Please look into the health status of your kidneys but don't rely on blood testing alone. I recently found out that no blood test picks up a problem with the liver until it is in at least 60% failure. Acupuncturist specialists have been trained to locate a "kidney pulse" in the arm that can verify a weak or damaged kidney and it's not crazy folks. Just as having the pain in the first place is not crazy. Now, what to do about it. I have consulted with many health care professionals on kidneys, including an ayurvedic doctor, a chiropractor, and an acupuncturist. Kidneys thrive on routine. If you sleep or eat meals at inconsistent times, your kidneys have a harder time keeping up with the changes. As an internal organ it usually takes a lot or a long down of time to weaken them, which means it may take a long time to build them back up. They are also affected by loud sounds over an extended period of time, I'm particularly referring to listening to music too loud on headphones. Kidneys need to be "warmed up" and respond well to foods like ginger, cayenne, and root vegetables. I have been instructed that red meat from warm blooded animals can also have a warming affect on the kidneys, and if I have chicken or turkey I should try to pair it with root vegetables or other warming foods like ginger. Food as medicine, it's not as crazy as you might think and has the potential to be MORE AFFECTIVE than pharmaceutical drugs. After visiting with countless MDs with varying specialties I never found answers for my long list of health problems. Most of them just gave me prescriptions to mask the symptoms. A year ago, I was so weak I almost died. By that time I was taking 11 different prescriptions given to me by many doctors. Then I went to an ayurvedic doctor who started me on a diet of specific foods and homeopathic drops... Well I noticed a phenomenal difference in just three weeks and after two months I was able to get off of 10 of my 11 prescriptions, some of which I had been taking for over ten years. If you are concerned about your health and not finding the answers you need, I suggest you seek out eastern medicine. I have experienced phenomenal results with Ayurvedic, chiropractic, homeopathic, and acupuncture services. Prescriptions and foreign chemicals are not always the best response to your body's needs.

"Hi all I'm a pharmacist originally from London but now working in Australia. I have had a patient with a similar complaint and I have put it down to the fact that the nerve root (in the T region) which innervates the kidneys from the human spine can result in referred pain/numbness/tingling in the hands, wrist and/or fingers. This could explain the pain possibly in conditions where they may be a slight kidney infection, history of kidney stones or history of kidney damage. I hope this helps you...you're definitely NOT crazy Kind regards Bobby"

I have a bladder infection right now and when I get that terrible pain tring to pass urine   , I get tingling in my arms up to my hands and fingers. I have never experienced anything like this in my life & now I have two reasons to dread having to pee. It is not psychological, I was very surprised whe this happened

This is all new to me I'm sad to hear we are all going through this but happy I'm not crazy and making this up because this sounds so strange. I will be contacting my doctor tomorrow to see if he can shine some light on this for me. I know most of you didn't get anywhere but I pray I can get some information to help us all.

Completely normal. I've noticed this throughout my entire life. It happens when I hold my pee too long.

I have found apple cider vinegar & garlic has helped. Also drinking a glass of water before urinating has relieved the pain. I think it is uric acid crystals - so if we hold too long we have no more water to dilute the uric acid in our system and it creates the pain. That is also why it is sometimes in the mornings as we wake up. I have also read that using aspirin can enhance the pain, so I have switched to Advil. The same goes for anti-acids against heartburn and some blood pressure medication (as it often contains a form of aspirin). Finally, a diet low in purine (high fibre, broccoli) and minimizing bananas, avos, spinach, red meat, some sea food as well as all fine flour (cakes, pastries, muffins) has also helped me a lot. If those are your favourites there are natural remedies like Devil's Claw & Burdock Root (although I have not tried them) and finally medication called probenecid, sulfinpyrazone & allopurinol. Hope this helps you too.
