Hi. I had an IUD (Mirena) in 2007 and I wanted it out because I was having problems. THe doctor could not find the string so he did an ultrasound and said that it was in my uturas (spelling?). My question is..what to expect after surgery? Should I experince bad cramping? I know with different people that the results are different, but I am nervous. Thanks

After the IUD is removed from your uterus, it will probably mean that you will have some strange periods for awhile unless you are going on a different birth control method or something like that. For about a month you will not be able to be sexually active or so while you recover from surgery. I don't think there's much to be nervous about though! I think the surgery will go fine for you.
