Ok.. I am 11 day’s post op.. apparently my surgery was more involved than most, as they did twohems..and the internals had become externals.. meaning one big long incision, from what I understand. They also cauterized to minimize bleeding. First bm was most excruciating pain ever.. and I gave birth to 4 babies all over 8.5 lbs, with no pain meds.. so I feel like I have pretty high pain tolerance.. also have suffered from thrombosis hems for almost 20 years. Day 8.. felt something working its way out and it appeared to be threads and yellowish/white flesh... it fell off, much like an umbilical cord.. and no pain while that happened. It was almost mesh like, not stitching as I had originally thought. But now there is more hanging out... but definite stitches...and lots of swelling... and that’s sickening rotting smell, no matter how many times I shower or bath.. I’m unsure as to whether I should be getting all this cut off, or what? I have been into emergency 2x and my dr. Once. Surgeon is away... While the bm themselves have become somewhat easier! The burning, throbbing pain afterwards is getting worse and worse... anyone else experiencing this combo of symptoms? So reluctant to go to emerg if all they are going to tell me is it’s normal to have some growth with stitching come out your rear after this.. it’s usually a 3-4 hr wait at our hosp emergency dept... and sitting simply isn’t an option at this point. ugh...
