About 11 years ago I complained to my doctor I didn't feel right. I was exhausted. They tested my thyroid several times over the course of 2 years and found nothing....basically it was "all in my head". Eventually I got to the point where I was shaking so much I couldn't feed myself with an eating utensil and I was stuttering. They did yet another blood test. He said it was so slightly off he wouldn't normally worry about it but decided to send me for a screening. As it turned out I had Graves' Disease. I opted for surgery and they did a partial thyroidectomy. For several years I was fine other than general tiredness and some weight gain. For the last few months I have been getting worse. The fatigue is worse than fatigue...I'm ok one minute then it hits me like a ton of bricks and I can't hold my eyes open. This happens several times a day. I sleep at least 8 hours a night. I had blood drawn again and they are telling me they have to lower my synthroid dose..... I find that a bit disturbing since I've been on the same dosage for so many years. I requested a thyroid screening because I feel like c**p. I'm having a hard time swallowing things as well.

Is it possible that because I have part of my thyroid there still I can develop another goiter? I am wondering if it's possible if the Graves' Disease is rearing it's ugly head again.

I believe that it is possible for a goiter to form on the remaining thyroid tissue. Good luck with the tests.
