hi.i would like to get some information about me high heartbeat rate.for the past 4 years,i realised that my heartbeat has always increased to 100 beat even when resting.the highest my heartbeat rate went up to 132 per minute.6 years ago doctor has diagonosed that i am having sinus problem.i am now 19 years old.I would like to know is my problem very serious?do i need to consult a doctor for this problem immediately??

Hi Theepa,

When you say sinus problem, do you mean in your heart?  It does have sinuses, or do you mean your nose?

100 is fast and it should be evaluated.  I'd suggest a cardiologist.

hi,

Currently i have consulted a doctor,and they took a blood sample suspecting that i might have thyroid.is thyroid is a serious dieseas and can it be cured?i am little worried about it since none in my family had it before.

Hi Theepa,

It sounds like your doctor is suspecting you may have hyperthyroidism. It's somewhat common. It is rarely life threatening.

There are medications can control the release of hormones. In some cases the thyroid will be removed. It depends upon the severity of the condition.
