Hello,

I'm looking for help for my dad who is 87.  He has retention and after a cystoscopy was left with a foley catheter.  He is now in the hospital with a horrible infection and the doctor says we have to do something ASAP.  We were considering subrapubic catheter but I hear that can also cause infections and my dad only has one functioning arm so hard to manage.

For those who had Holep.  What was the anesthesia?  Do you think ok for 87 who had anesthesia induced stroke 12 years ago?  Is on blood thinners? We are in NY area but I'd travel anywhere to get help for my pops.

Thank you in advance for any advice you can give to me. Laura
