how can you tell if someone is addicted to hydrocodone

Hi,I just found out my husband is addicted to hydrocodone.We got married a year ago and we both are 29 years old.He started noticing changes in his acting.He has emotional ups and downs(mostly downs),angry,he looks exhausted,always tired,he looks like he has no emotions for me but he says the opposite if I ask.AND on top of it he stopped having sex with me,he has no libido no matter what I do.If we do have sex he cannot ejaculate.Every time I ask him why is this happening(or NOT happening)he makes up stupid explanations like I hurt him or I said something so he is not going to have sex with the woman he loves if she says bad things .But I see has no lust.I know he has no other woman(because that was what I thought first..) but he used to be very sexual with me.He doesn't know I've found his hidden stash of pills because I am trying to figure out what should I do.Especially because if I just said I was spying I would be the bad guy who does not trust him and who tries to control him(this is his story lately...wonder why).So I would like to ask if you noticed any changes in your guys sexuality.Thank you and good luck for both of us.

I'm sorry but a doctor would not prescribe 20 pills a day- and if they did they'd lose their medical license. Your husband is an addict and you are blind if you don't see that. 

Wrong, that would be Vicoprofen. That has Ibuprofen and Hydrocodone. Vicodin has acetaminophen and hydrocodone.

He is probably snorting pain killers. Get him help

I have a beautiful wife but she is addicted to hydrocode/xanax she has been taking them for over 20 yasrs and will eat as many as i will give her money for well money is not the problem . Her health is what im worried about she weighs maybe 120 lbs she takes at least 20 hydrocodone a day 60 if i leave money lying around thhe xanax she takes to sllep she says she is real  sick and i know she can have a better life but i cant reach her i have to take hydrocodnen as well but i have been taking them 6 years my back is messed up and i only take two a day she went to rehab and it did no good what do i do to save her life ? she wrecked my new truck and i dont know what to do besides leave and i truly love he enough to do so but will she die ?:-)

I recently left my boyfriend of 3 years, because he's addicted to hydrocodone. Well he's the father of my son, and I truly care about the person he was when we first got together, but now I don't even know how he is!! He recently moved in another pill popping girl into OUR house, and it breaks my heart everyday. He too has mood swings and just doesn't care about me what so ever. His mood swings are so bad that one day he cares the next he doesn't. I've been moved out for 2 months and the first 2 or 3 weeks he seen his son almost everyday and almost every weekend all weekend long. Now our son is maybe lucky to see his dad a couple hours a week. It breaks my heart for our son. I am scared about his health as well. My biggest fear is that I'm going to go into our house one day and he's going to be laying there dead! I just had a friend that was only 24 years old die from pills. And with the way his help is im scared this is going to happen to him and the worst part is his family doesn't care. I don't know how many times I've tried to help him get help, but there's not much I can do because we are not married. Just makes me sad, sick to my stomach, and hurts me that the person I fell in love with, well he's not that person anymore.

I too am going through this and I appreciate the post, everything you have listed in here is the same exact symptoms my boyfriend is having. As for trying to get custody of your kids, keep text messages and keep emails. My boyfriend has a prescription for hydrocodone's but he just recently moved in another girl into OUR house, and she's addicted to pills also but she takes oxycodone or oxycotin, so I'm going to see if I can have him drug tested to see whats in his system. I have to prove that my boyfriend is addicted as well so I can get full custody of our son. So I wish you the best of luck, even though its been a year since you've posted. But I'm also hoping to get things in my favor too.

I work in the medical field and what you do is call the board of whatever state u live in, they will investigate for wrongful dx. Docs are crazy and will give pt's anything to get there money. It's sad but I witness it first handed.

I know this is from a year ago, but yes, there is big time sexual issues....I was hooked on pain pills for a few years. I had no problem getting hard, but sometime it took forever to "bust a nut"

I have been on hydro for three years now because of backpain & Medicaid is taking forever to approve my app. I take approx. 5X day. I feel depression, anxiety & not wanting to do anything w/out these pills. I dislike taking these...I also think I am addicted...I also would like to know if I am addicted but how do I know????

You are...get help to withdraw off them in stages..pick a day each week to reduce your daily by 1 pill, until you get to 0 a day. Keep trying, never give up! You are not failing if you relapse, just think of it as one more attempt to getting closer to releasing your dependency. Don't be tricked, you will hurt pains in the stomach and many odd places. Never give up! It will be the hardest battle, but keep trying. Read up on natural remedies for opiate withdrawal..lots of fruits and vegetables, yoga, walks in nature/by water, trees. You can do it.

I'm really sorry for what you're going through. I'm going through the same situation but there is no girl moved in and I'm married. I know your post was I've a year ago, however if you haven't already done it... MOVE ON. Provide for you and your sweet child. Life is too short and every human makes his/ her choice each day. Love is clearly non existent with him, he can't even love himself, so let it go and love yourself and your little boy. Do the best you can do for you two, pray and you WILL be guided to a way.

Yes. Sex drive plummets with addiction. My husband has been trying to hide his addiction for 10 years. When I busted him out, he went as far as to tell me he was addicted 3 yrs ago but weaned himself down to his prescribed dose and less. But I've found hidden bags of pills, counted the contents while he slept and the next day lots were gone on top of hus prescribed amounts.

Back to the sex drive issue....my husband was a freak of nature in the bedroom. He could go time after time. But now he has every excuse as to why he cant. He blames it on his other meds, blames it on stress (which he has none except his pill hiding), he blames it on his age (he's 44). But I have friends who are older and sex it up like rabbits compared to my husband. I've been to Dr apps with him and the Dr said his hormone levels are normal. If you Google it, you will find recovering addicts all over the Web stating how bad their sex drive was while addicted and not that they're off the hydros, their sex drive has come back 10 fold. Even to the point that they feel 18 again. So YES hydros/opiates severely affect the sex drive.

Actually u r thinking of vicoprofen which has hydrocodone and ibuprofen.
