This is embarrassing, its only 4.5 miles to ride my bike to school and about the same to work.

However, there is the coordination factor of wearing a backpack with a laptop in it. Then there is the aforementioned stink factor when I arrive at work or school and patients/fellow students have to put up with said stink. I just can't do it.

Unless one runs into the other. :o
I'd love to bike to work. If someone can do something to remove the 4000 half-asleep, cell phone distracted m****s on the same road I need to ride on, I'll ride a bike to work in the driving rain. :wavey:

Trust me, when I get finished a run or a bike ride no amount of toweling and deodorant alone is going to get rid of the funk. I'm talking being able to wring the sweat out of my clothes by hand. I do own Under Armor and other "tech" clothing.
*fine* you win. yeeeesh.
seriously, the world would be a much much better place if we all rode our bikes to work.
i don't care what anyone says about the economy, it was perfectly fine before cars were invented - it'll be fine when we stop using them.
'sides think of how hot everyone would be if they exercised everyday.

My bil used to bike commute to his job on campus and one day hit a curb wrong and crashed and trashed his laptop. So, I'd agree with you.
And: you can't disrespect the blue suit.

I'd do up to 40 miles each way if it was effective - showers, safe place to put the bike, not too much drain on time.

I'd do 20-25 without blinking though. In this city's traffic, it'd probably be faster.

You're a better man than me. I don't think I could handle 400 miles of commuting a week.

While the thought of driving to DC incites/excites me, I'm satisfied with sitting in a metal tube with engines to get there...

You're commuting to DC?

Its about 10 metres down the hallway to my work. I think I'd have some trouble negotiating the tight corner on the bike...

I am about 18 miles one way. The problem is I have a lot of highways to take to get there. I am looking into taking the bus again though.
