What Jackaroo wrote earlier this month is a life saver. The Seven Weeks to Sobriety book gave me the information I needed to FINALLY stop drinking after 35 years!
My heart breaks when I read about how so many of you are feeling so awful after quitting. You do not have to endure white-knuckle sobriety. YOU DO NOT HAVE to FEEL SO MISERABLE. You need to repair the physiological damage that drinking has caused. Taking Atavan and Benzos and the other drugs may help you get through the worst of detox, but remember, these drugs are just masking or easing the symptoms....they are NOT helping your body recover from the physical toll that drinking has taken on your entire system. You CAN and WILL feel better once you begin rebuilding your health.
I can keep going on and on about this and will recommend a few supplements that can help ASAP....but PLEASE, I urge you to head over to Amazon.com or wherever you buy books online and get your hands on SEVEN WEEKS TO SOBRIETY.
Until you get that....Here are some web links with a lot of info from the book.

As for Supplements....L-Glutamine (an amino-acid) is awesome for INSTANTLY taking away the craving to drink (the powdered version is more economical.)
Add some niacin, B-complex, Chromium and Vitamin C (Ester-C is best...)
and you've got a handful of powerful help - I promise. You should also take a GOOD daily vitamin.
**Try to get the BEST grade of supplements & Vitamans you can afford. In general, always go for capsules, if available rather than pills. - they absorb better.
iherb.com is a great place to buy these items...high quality, low prices...fast shipping - sometimes FREE shipping. If you google iherb coupon...you may even come up with a code for $5 bucks and/or 10% off your first order.
The book will help you get started on getting the right blood tests, etc. to help determine where you're deficient. If you can't find a GOOD doctor to help you..you can guide yourself through the treatment.
Last but not least...you need to start eating RIGHT...ditch the fast food and processed food. Start refueling your body with healthy WHOLE foods (organic if you can afford it) LOTSA vegies, some fruit (unless your very hypoglycemic) and some protein...broiled chicken...FISH...go easy on the red meat.
Once the balance within your body is restored...you will not have the physical cravings to drink. Gone. Adios. Imagine that!
One caution...You will start feeling better almost immediately...especially if you have already detoxed. Do not let this fool you into thinking that maybe you can have just one....nope. The stuff is poison to people like us...and it will kill us if we keep putting it in our bodies.
YOU CAN GET BETTER! There is hope. THERE IS HOPE!!!!!
