I am not asking for myself, more as a general interest question. Some information about the symptoms of colon carcinoma would be great. Are there any intestinal cramps involved, and perhaps changes in bowel movements? How can you recognize the first signs and symptoms of colon carcinoma? Thanks for your time.

Their are two types of Carcinoma. One is a type of skin cancer that is caused by tanning beds or sunlight. Second is a type of tumor that is very slow growing.

Colon carcinoma often has no symptoms at all even when it is already fairly advanced. The common symptom, however, is blood in the stool. From this reason blood in the stool is always considered as a medical urgency (except when it is obvious it is from hemorrhoids or scratching).

Cramps, diarrhea, change in stool consistency or color and other common gastrointestinal symptoms are NOT likely or at least not common.

Symptoms of advanced cancer may include constipation, abdominal or pelvic pain, nausea, poor appetite, loosing weight.
