A doctor is the one who will tell if you should undergo colonoscopy or not. Hemorrhoids and polyps are two different things. Rectal polyps usually don’t cause any symptoms but if they grow to be very big, they may cause rectal bleeding, abdominal cramps, pain and sometimes watery diarrheas or mucus-filled.
While you can feel external hemorrhoids and protruding ones, you can’t feel or see rectal polyps and internal hemorrhoids. A doctor can tell the difference during a rectal examination. Hemorrhoids too can cause bleeding and pain.
Colon polyps may not cause any symptoms as well but if they do, then it is anal bleeding, constipation or diarrhea and blood in the stool.

As you can see, all the symptoms look alike and you can’t tell the difference yourself. Doctor couldn’t tell the difference either without examining.
Colon cancer causes also pain and bleeding, it can cause changes in bowel habits, and sudden and unexpected weight loss.
If you have been suffering from any of the symptoms mentioned, you should see a doc and get yourself tested to see what’s going on.
