I've been having problems with my tonsils for a while. It's been so bad that I'vehad to go to the ER, where the docs gave me a referral to and Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor. I have an appointment for later today, but will they just look at me and then tell me something like..."We'll schedule you for next week?" How quickly can I get the surgery done? My throat is almost swollen shut over these things, and when I cough, blood is coming up. Can I get this over with fast?

Years ago I finally got a tonsillectomy because of several episodes of tinsollitis every year since I was a kid. The surgeon waited until the infection was gone and the swelling cleared before she could do surgery. I haven't had problems ever since. The recovery post surgery is one of the most pianfull things you will experience. It is even more painful than Hemorroid surgery which I have had. I made sure my pain medicine was in the suringe on my nightstand so I could take it during the night. I basically counted the hours until I could take the next dose. I do not regret getting the surgery, but know that you will be in [b]severe pain for at least 2 weeks and you will probably lose weight becasue you can't eat. I basically ate soup. Good luck!
