Because of the current lack of donated human organs, scientists have thought of an idea to transplant animal organs to humans. The procedure is named xenotransplantation and the scientists are hoping that in the next couple of years this procedure will be able to take place.
Originally, placing pig organ into a human body would trigger an immediate and deadly immune response. But, scientists believe it should be possible to trick the immune system into not recognizing or tolerating foreign pig tissue. So, it is immunological obstacles that are in the way for making xenotransplantation work.
There are two possible ways to cheat the immune system. One would be to produce pigs lacking a sugar called "gal epitope" which is targeted by immune system antibodies. Another would be to mimic the natural process by which the body learns to inactivate cells that might attack parts of itself. Both ways allowed pig kidney transplants to survive in lab animals for more than 80 days.
However, there is another problem scientist are facing and that is a potential spread of pig viruses to humans.

It is unethical to 'farm' animals for organs. Have they not suffered enough? For years, the infamous 'Dr. White' butchered animals for their HEADS. Dogs, primates & apes mainly... he would REMOVE the head of 1 animal and place it onto another... Animal 'experimentation' or viva-section, is so inhumane and disgraceful, it is kept away from public view.

Almost everything humans consume (ingest, wear, eat, use) has linkage to cruel animal testing.

---From personal care products like toilet tissue, toothpaste, make-up, parfume, nail polish, deoderant, shaving razors etc.

---Foods from your local grocery store. Think mostly 'pre-packaged' foods (which is almost everything at a regular grocer). Anything boxed, canned or placed in jars & bags... with 'additives' like artificial flavors, colors, preservatives.

--- EVERYTHING... otc drugs, pharmaceudical drugs, tobacco cigarettes, house cleaning supplies, home improvement (house paint, cleaning supplies, PEST CONTROL, fertilizers...)

--- The clothes you wear (chemicals, dyes...)

Animal testing involving PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH is also still very active.

IT IS NOT WHETHER THEY CAN COMMUNICATE,
IT IS NOT WEATHER THEY CAN REASON,
IT IS WEATHER THEY CAN SUFFER.

Please consider living a 'cruelty-free' life.
