I am scared to get my period

This is something I think many of us girls worried about but try not to focus too much on it. It's good that you carry pads with you. Even though your Mum started at 9, you may not. I started mine at 10 but my sister was 12. It's very scary to have to deal with it the first few times but you'll manage it. Meanwhile enjoy the time you have without it and try not to worry, it may not happen for a while yet.
