I can not seem to get pregnant after being off depo for 4 ye

omg i hust turned 19 and not thtme nd my boyfriend is truying to have a baby but i was on the depo wen i was in the 8th grade nd i got off it in the 11th grade... at tht tim i mad my mom let me try the pill... nd then tht aint work so i just was reallly sayin forget b.c. so for almost three years i havent been on b.c. nd i have not gotten pregnant... but last year in october was the last time i had a period nd then for a year i didn't have a period....then a week ago i just started really heavy where i had to go to the hospital. but im scared because i eventually do want a bay and im afraid tht after all this time i should have gotten pregnant.. me and my boyfriend have been living ytogether for a year and a half.. and so if this shot really made me infertile is there anything i can do.. if there is any ine out there that knows wat we kan do wat can we do????? we need to take the depo shot off the market.. everyone i know that took this or nosome one tht took it screwed them up :-P

hi.... i was on the depo for about 4 years i came off it abot 2 years ago never had a period 4 about 1year and a bit after comming off it then i had a misscarriage..... my periods hav never been regular since and i have never fell pregnant either i am sooo scared tht the depo has left me infertile i was neva told about this when i went on it im now 22 and have settled down and wuold like to have a child with my partner :-D but the chances of me getting pregnant look very slim i wish i had neva went on the depo.... i think they should ban it or not give it to any1 planning a family in the future...... will i ever have kids?

I got two of the depo shots and have been trying to get pregnant for almost a year and I have two periods a month can anybody give me any answers on what I can do to get my period regular and to become pregnant thanks my name is ashley

hi to all. i had 3 planned pregnancies all b4 the age of 27. i met a new partner and we had a child when i was 36 - once again no problem getting pregant. after the birth i decided to get the depo and had it for two and a half years. my last depo jab was 21mths ago - when we decided we wanted another child. at the time of coming off the depo i did lots of research on the effects of depo and was horrified as to what i read. the doctor told me it could take anything from 6mths+ to get pregant. you may think at my age (40 now) it is age related why i can't get prenant, i truly believe it's because of the depo. some doctors say it's not because of the depo and the gyno doctors who are now dealing with me at the hospital seem to think the depo has sent "my eggs tosleep". i have had day 21 blood tests which show i'm not ovulating tho i'm having periods (shorter than when i wasn't on depo). i have had a day 3 test done for FSH and that is fine. i had a "dye" test to make sure tubes are fine - and they are so now i'm due to go on a course of clomid to see if it can "wake my eggs up". this is so frustrating i wish i had never had the jab in the first place. time is not on my side because of my age and if the clomid doesn't work then i'll have to give up trying. my advice to any one trying after depo is don't try for years to ge pregnant, get some blood tests etc done to see if hormone levels are ok. i tried for 6 mths beore going to the doctors to have bloods done, glad i didn't leave it any longer. maybe this depo should be banned? good luck to you all xxx

Hey, everyone my name is Chranda, I was on the depo when I 19 which was back in September 2005 becasue I was just outta high school and didn't want any kids at the time, but as time went on and all was well I found me a great man and I got off the shot back in Feb. 2009, now that I have been off the shot me and my husband have been trying for a baby and we aint had any luck on getting pregnant, my husband seems to think that the shot has messed with my body and also has fried everything for my girly system....I got this Friday to a Dr. to see whats wrong with me and why I can't get pregnant it hurts so bad cause I have been having messed up cycles for over a yr now and the more I think bout it the madder it makes me and the more I get mad at myself for staying on shot for so long but if I was to do the math I was only on the shot for 3 yrs and been off the shot for 3yrs I can go months without my cycle and then it just shows up and was going great for a yr maybe every now and then a week late but that was it, now My last cycle was Nov., I should have started my cycle on Dec. 18th but nothing and now its January 31st and I spoted a few days and but it was so light I couldn't even see it........You know how some woman get the cycle smell I could smell it when I was in the restroom or something like that but I couldn't see it so It makes me wonder if Im pregnant and dont know it and how for along would i be if i was pregnant wish someone could just help me out here and answere some of my questions for me and my husband and what should we do beside not to try so hard to get pregnant just to have sex which it always fun to pretice makeing the babies but just no damn luck makes me so sad    :'(:'(!

the depo causes your cervix to slowly close up and that is where the sperm enters I do believe. So after years of taking depo, yeah how would sperm be able to swim through? Im not a doct but this seems to make sense logically

I was on the depo for 8 years and regret ever being given this by my doctor it is the worst thing that I ever did. I have now been off the depo nearly 3 years and still not pregnant. Never once did my doctor tell me that it would do this to my body. All they were interested in was that I was a 17 year old girl and I shouldn't be pregnant. Now at the age of 28 I regret it I will tell this to eve woman I know steer clear of it if you ever want he chance to have children.

I started using depo after i had my daughter in 2008 and stopped using it and started back in 2010. My last shot was October of 2010 and me and my husband can't get pregnant. I had a miscarriage before and I had another baby so i know i was fertile. We're not sure about him but i had other partners before him and didn't get pregnant either. When I was on the shot I had horrible mood swings, gained weight, and now i have arthritis and i'm only 21! Please anyone reading this that hasn't yet gotten one please don't take it!! I'm trying to get my medical info together so I can sue the company that makes this horrible shot!

I agree! that is so awful! I wish you luck! I pretty much got forced to get the depo because I was only 15 when i had my daughter, i didn't want to and now i wished i wouldn't have.

I no the feeling! ive been off depo for 16 months now last shot was sept 2011 and its really kinda getting me down and i begining to loose hope a little that it will ever happen i'm going to give it 18 months then see my gp. In july 2012 i got my periods back normal and in nov 2012 they seemed to start to go all over the place arghhh its soo frustrating! Hannah

I was on depo for 9 years. my husband and I decided to start trying for a baby. I have been off it for 2 years. after 8 months of being off the shot I got my period back. so I was glad I found this site and read everyones posts, lets me know theres still hope :)

I was supposed to get my shot on Januray 11th of 2011 and never went in because we wanted to start trying and in
October I got my period back.this doesn't help anyone but I'm just glad to know I'm not the only one.
