4 months ago I had a bilarteral microsurgical varicocelectomy and hydrocelectomy done. I've had two post op appointments with my surgeron who said I'm recovering well but I came here to see if others experienced that same recovery symptoms that I've been experiencing. So to sum it up the surgery was actually really easy. I had normal swelling for a week or two in my entire scrotum. My left side is the side that had the grade III varicocele and the right had a small one (probably shouldn't have bothered but why not kill two birds with one stone). So after the week or two of swelling went down I thought that the surgery was a complete failure because the veins felt stiff but not like that of before the surgery. Before the surgery I wouldn't feel the varicocele unless I was standing for awhile and when I laid down it "went away". But after the surgery no matter if I stood up and stood for awhile or laid down the veins that were ligated always seemed to be stiff. The doctor said this is normal and could take up to 6 months for the stiffness to go away and to feel completely normal. So I was relieved that what he felt seemed to be normal to him. Also I complained that the left testicle hasn't descended to completly normal and still feels like it is being held up but the ligated veins waiting to be absorbed I guess? So I was wondering if any other out there who had the same procedure done had this same problem of the side where you had the varicocele on if the veins were still stiff 4 months after and if they really went away after around 6 months and the testicle descended. It's weird because most fourms I read about people explaining their post op systems is that the side where the varicocele is now hangs even lower. So please anyone who has had this procedure done can you please give me some input into if you had similar experience and if the stiffness of the veins that were ligated eventually were absorbed?
