I realize you posted over a year ago but I thought I would reply anyway. I have a long clitoral hood and I do 'tuck' it in. I'm not sure that I even think about it anymore (for reference, I am 28 years old). You don't need to apply any pressure when 'tucking' it in. It will be much more comfortable and shouldn't rub against her clothes. I never tried vaseline, I think that may make things sticky and may run through her clothes if she puts too much on. Also, it may end up stimulating her and that could potentially be embarrassing in public.

She probably will be self-conscious/ashamed. To be honest, I still am! I don't have any children myself but it may be useful to show her pictures of all different vaginas. Most pre-teens go hunting for this information themselves and I think many end up watching porn, which is so damaging.
