I have tried three cortisone shots with no real solutions for my mortons neuroma. The pain has eased when I do normal activities for short periods of time, but I am in "alot" of unbearable pain when I powerwalk.
The most upsetting fact is I no longer feel healthy, I used to power walk up to 50 miles per week, the cortisone has made me gain additional weight along with the fact of not being able to walk for a year.
Is there some sort of foot wear, besides the New Balance speciality shoes, and metatarsal pads which I have tried? The metatarsal pads gave me incredible shin splints along with the pain from the neuroma.
Maybe something that fits in between the third and fourth toe to separate? I am desperate to get back on the road and I don't have health insurance to cover the surgery.
I work a caregiver job that has me on my feet all day and towards the end of the day I am ususally in pretty severe pain.
Is there any equipment that is powerwalking friendly that will relieve some of the pain? Or maybe some alternative treatment besides Cortisone, alcohol or surgery.
I have become depressed, unhealthy and heavy. Can anyone HELP please!!!

I can not walk either, so I tried the gazelle that Tony Little advertize. I got mine at Acadamy sporting store, it cost $100.00. If you need a heavy duty gazelle it will cost a little bit more.

Don't know if you still have the problem, but I can relate to your problem a few times over 8 yrs. Alcohol injections eliminated pain and severe cramps at nite in my ri. foot, then 3 yrs ago it's the left foot. A few alcohol injections seemed to help but not completely. Then I was scheduled to have surgery soon, and when my ins. changed, I had to get another dr - who said surgery wouldn't help - then it cleared up completely til now. I had such a severe cramp in my left foot at night that the top turned black and blue and was swollen. Guess I'll get a cortisone shot (2nd one also one 3 yr ago - hope it's safe - didn't seem to do much the last time). I wrapped a narrow strip of duct tape around my two affected toes to act as a splint - it keeps them together and aren't uncomfortable - just my idea but who knows? If I soak my feet in epsom salts for 25 min (not hot) before bed, I'm good. Any more ideas since you started having this problem? We can share what we've done. Ice also does help me and also not doing fierce jumping on the rebounder (disappointing). I'm like you - I like to be active.
