I smell smoke all the time

I have had similar experience, but I no longer do.

Did it clear up on its own or did you seek medical help? Any info you have on subject would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Yeast infection in the nose/sinus, rinse the nostrils regularly with a ingest-able fungicide.

Go back to my ENT Thursday and will talk to him about this.....Flonase has NOT helped!!

Reading through these posts dating back years has shed SOME light on why I am smelling this awful burning smell.  I DO take Levxyl for my thryroid issue, I DO use artificial sweetners (at least 8 packets per day) and I do feel like when I drink less water it gets worse BUT that's all I have deciphered as common with some of the other posts.  I don't have a sinus infection (per my ENT Doctor) and I had an MRI done 2 days ago that shows nothing..should I see a neurologist??

Oh my goodness, I can't believe there's actually a post about this.  I've been experiencing it   for about 2 weeks now, mainly at work in the afternoon, but also this evening at home.  Nobody in my house smokes and my windows are closed.  It's really annoying and unpleasant - there must be an explanation as to why so many of us are experiencing this

I have a CT scheduled for Wed. (12/10) with results from ENT Dr. the following Wed. (12/16)  My phantom smoke ordeal started in August of this year while we were on vacation. Thought I was going crazy when I was the only one smelling the smoke BUT after googling it was amazed at the number of people who have it. My Dr. started me on Flonase (first step) almost 4 weeks ago but it has not helped. Not much is known about this and IF CT scan comes back normal, next step will be neurologist. Keeping my fingers crossed for good results and an END to this!!

Wow, it seems like a lot of people have this issue but no real answers.  That's discouraging!  I've been smelling the smoke smell for about a month.

I've been to a regular dr who prescribed a course of antibiotics in case it was the beginning of a sinus infection.  No change.  After that she prescribed Flonase and no change with that either.  Got an appointment with an ENT tomorrow.  This is kind of freaking me out!

Good luck with the ENT.....I have a CT scan scheduled for tomorrow. Just hoping to find some RELIEF! My ENT has told me if the scan shows nothing the next step will be a neurologist.....just want this horrible smell to be GONE.

Sorry to hear so many are suffering with this, hard to understand if you haven't had it yourself.  Cigarette smoke is a smell I have always detested, so this is extra frustratin

Been smelling smoke (mostly) off and on for almost a year now.  Never good smells always bad.  Lifelong allergies and sinus issues, but just on different OTC stuff for allergies. Recently found out I have Chiari Malformation.  Also having occasional phantom noises, too.  Had a mold issue in bedroom, but resolved that (we believe) a month or so ago.   

I plan to try the TOOTHBRUSH TRICK another poster from pages back suggested (THANKS!)  For those who may have missed it, they applied a dab of toothpaste to toothbrush and put it all the way back on tongue until the point of gagging and tearing up.  This seemed to bring a sense of release and the smell is gone.  Hope this helps, some of the other theories are a rabbit hole of lack of firm answers and scarier questions!

I don't know if this will help you but i started smelling smoke about 12 years ago on and off. It drives me crazy. I don't have sinus problems but i once read that it can start from a hard blow to the head. 12 years ago I was wanted to clean something on the ceiling and when i stood on a chair, i got slammed in the head by the overhead wooden fan. It hit me hard but I was fine. This smell comes and goes. I have it right now...

I've had the exact problem, smelling cigarette smoke.  It was occasionally, but lately it's all the time.  It's happening now.  I also have a tingling sensation in my head & dizziness for the past 2 months.  I'm having a CT scan done in 2 days.  

Have you had any head injuries, hit your head or bumped it?

I'm experiencing this too, I thought I was going crazy. It is extremely irritating and if I take deep breathes I can actually say it is fresh air but my normal breathing is annoying
