My hands get so itchy while I am sleeping that I actually get woke up by it. This just started within the past few weeks. My hands get so itchy that there is nothing that I can do. I rub and scratch them to the point that I am breaking the skin.There is no rash at all just really severe itchiness.
I have numbness in my hands at time but nothing major. I am doing this research because tonoght I just can't get back to sleep. Does anybody know what coudl be causing this? I am calling my doctor tomorrow.

Enlarged liver from reactive hipoglycemia, and I have some nerve impingement since surgery at c 5/6 & 6/7 Nothing new over the years been the same...

Definitely the best thing you can do is to go see a doctor, especially because there is history of previous nerve injury (more importantly, it might have been related to neurons that "pick up" sensations from the skin). It doesn't have to be anything that serious - it might be reaction to something that your skin is allergic to - new detergents, for example, but because there is a risk that this might be related to the previous injuries, still is best to confirm with the doctor what is going on.

Thank you but as I said, I haven't changed any detergents or anything ,and this only happens at night. I have a doctors appint but, they coudn't get me in until Monday. Guess I have to live with it until then.
