I'm 12, is it legal to have sex with 17 years old guy

i have to say...you are way too young to understand the impact that having sex will have on your body and on you emotionally. please, please, please think about what you're doing. if a 17 year old guy wants to have sex with a 12 year old, he is ONLY taking advantage of you. there is no other reason that he would want to sleep with you than the mere thought of a score. also, he could be arrested for statutory rape, as you are a minor. i suggest you wait until you are older. i am not saying that you're not old enough to make decisions, but this one is life-altering and very, very important. please don't think that i see you as some child who is incapable of seeing reason or thinking for herself, as i have been a 12 year old girl before...but i do know that if you do this, you will probably regret it.

I was around your age when I first had sex with a much much older guy. We didn't care about the legalities and I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt good about it. Our relationships lasted close to 18 months and he had to leave to go back to his country. 

When you want to have sex and like the guy you intend to have sex with, legalities have no place. You do it because you want to and you want to enjoy the closeness and intimacy with the guy you have chosen to have sex with. 

The only thing I would advise is for you to be prepared - ie learn about taking precautions against pregnancy and STDs and how to enjoy the experience. 

If you do fall pregnancy because you weren't careful, society will come down heavily on you and your guy and it will be a mess. I hate how judgemental society is and how harshly they judge such relationships. Older younger relationships can be huge fun and very enjoyable. Just be careful and prepared and make sure no one gets to know what happens.
