I appreciate your comments and advice. Since I have never taken any hormone therapy, I really am in the dark about it all. Can you tell me if the Bio-Identical hormone therapy is available from a medical doctor, or do I need to see a naturopathic doctor?

I was on bio-identical hormones until my doctor abruptly took me off of them after 4 years. I feel like I'm going through withdrawl...I sweat all of the time...can't sleep, have horrible mood swings. I don't know what to do???

I will be 62 in September and for the past 3 months have been having hot flashes at night. I was officially told 9 years ago that I was now postmenopausal after having a terrible time of menopause. I experienced heavy bleeding til I couldn't leave the house. Finally had an endometrial ablation which was a God send.
From what I've been reading here, it seems that we never stop having hot flashes and that sure doesn't thrill me. I did take some bio-identical hormones during menopause and a very short time after. Would it be alright to take them again? I had an aunt who had breast cancer and one cousin who passed away because of it. She was my age when she died. It worries me that these flashes could be more then just hormonal fluctuations. Thanks ladies, our lives are never worry free are they?

Welcome to the club. While I am intact and 66 years old, I have ben post menopausal some 24 years now.And the hot flashes continue. Stop! Oh please stop! I realloy hate that feeling.Though not nearly as frequent they are worse as time goes on.And can leave me feeling weak several days. Course for me and some special conditions, pre menopause wasn'tmuch fun either.

Thank you ladies for letting me know I'm not the only one at age 63 still getting hot flashes. When these start from my head up I also get and itchy head mainly in one spot. I didn't have any of this when I went through menapause. Thanks again ladies

Reading your post has made me feel normal, I'd had the night sweats & they went away a long time ago, now I have sweats & the feeling I'm about to explode with the heat, this normally occurs in the evening a long time before bed, a cool shower before bed helps. I'm going to start taking "slim fast" the diet can supplement, as a friend advised this when I had menopause & it worked, thank you for your post it's reassuring we are not on our own.

I'm nearly 62, haven't had a hyster and having probably 6-12 hot flashes daily! Took hormones for nearly 6 years and am trying to cope without but really suffering... can't wait until all these youngsters who are 'freezing' at work get here- always the sedentary ones (get up and move will ya!) So, I'm going to try Pygnogenol Complex- will see what happens
