Hi, Im about to be 14, and my football and I have started to work out for spring training at school. I also work out at my house ocasionally. I only work out about twice a week. Would it stunt my growth if I took amino acids at this age? I'm really curious because I'm looking forward to getting bigger over the summer and I thought that maybe taking amino acids would help.
Thanks

I've never heard of amino acids helping you grow, but if you want to take them, that's probably not a problem. A lack of arginine and guanine can actually stunt growth, but that's a deficiency and in small children.
If you want to take amino acids in a healthy way, I suggest taking Bragg's liquid aminos, a seasoning rich in amino acids. It takes a lot like soy sauce, so if you like Asian food, just substitute that for soy sauce.
I don't suggest you get your aminos from a grocery store or popular pharmacy since supplements sold there are generally generic, cheap, and made from synthetic chemicals and are not natural. The liquid aminos seasoning, however, is made from soy beans and is all-natural. You can find that at a local health food store. It's also not expensive.
