Hello, I am 23 years old and I have been just recently diagnosed with flavor allergy. Only certain flavors, not all, thank God, but I have to be extra care from now on about what I eat. Luckily, I never had any major symptoms, but that does not mean those will not happen if I am not careful. Should I always say in restaurants that I am allergic to flavor?

Yes, I think that is a must. Then again, I am not so sure if the cooks in the kitchen have the time or will to check the ingredients they use. Perhaps this is something that can be done in better restaurants but I am not so sure about the less popular ones. Perhaps if you know in what vegetables, spices etc those flavors are included, that would make things a lot easier, for you and for cooks…
