I'm nearly 17 and I've NEVER had a period! It's started to worry me now because in the future I would love to have children but I'm worried that something is wrong with my reproductive system which is preventing me from ovulating. I've seen a doctor who suggested I should take hormone pills which I haven't started taking yet. I've also been for an Ultrasound Scan and the nurse showed me my Kidneys, Uterus and Ovaries and she said everything is fine but just recently I came across an NHS page which talked about 'Cystic Ovaries' and I had some of the symptons which started to worry me. I'm really confused and worried because the nurse said my ovaries are fine but what if she hasn't spotted any cysts? I don't know what to do?

Hi. I would advise you to try the hormone pills as prescribed and then if your still not having a period after say 6 months to go back to your doctor and say that nothing is happening yet and in the mean time do a lot more research into ovarian cysts and any finding take to your doctor if your period doesn't start and see what they say :-)
